I only have a little 3'x4' cement patio in my backyard. When I bought the home last year (it was built as a spec home) that's all it came with. Here's my question. If I wanted to expand that patio out, I have someone who will build me a 7'x16' cement patio, but I have a sprinkler system already installed, would it be difficult to do? Even if I had capped off the sprinklers, wouldn't the weight of the cement be detrimental to the sprinklers? Or would I have to hire someone to reroute them? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Chops,
Even though there would be a slim chance that anything would go wrong with the lines for your sprinkler system, I would rerout them just in case. Alot less problems tearing up the yard than the patio. If you decide to keep them there however, the concrete poured over them should not be a problem. :)
