I played golf yesterday at Champion Lakes Golf Club in Ligonier, Pa.
The course is owned and operated by former Pirate ss, Dick Groat.
I asked Groat, "Who were the top three pitchers you faced during your career?"
He replied, "Bob Gibson, Sandy Koufax, and Warren Spahn. You could throw in Lew Burdette too, but Gibson and Koufax were a level above everyone else."
Curious as to how I played? I'll give you a clue.....
Where I swung my club....the grass will never grow again.
