New Jersey Nets -4 Over Phoenix Suns
Is this a trap ???? Suns broke a three game losing skid with a victory over a depleted Milwaukee squad who was playing back to back after playing the Lakers.
Phoenix is strong at home than on the road and so is the case with NJ.
At home:
Phoenix has won against :
Atlanta
Portland
Houston and
Milwaukee
while losing to:
Detroit
Denver
The key here is the focus of the Nets players. I am sure Kidd being the guy he is will wanna prove a point to the Suns organization (of course he shud be glad they traded him now).
Nets after the horrible loss to Boston on the road got a talk from the coach and responded in fine style. I see them being more focussed and to improve their road record.
Phoenix I think has won all its matchup's against Nets in Phoenix.
But this may change as this is not the Nets team from before.
Nets have a lot more weapons and I think they will just outgun the Suns. The Suns have only couple of people who can score and they are not playing consistent ball.
Also Phoenix has matchup problems with the big guys. Most of the Nets players are playing 27- 30 minutes a game in their last 2 games. Plenty of rest.
I think New Jersey wanna win in Zona and wins this one by at least 8-9 points.
Golden State -1 over Houston
Golden State have had rest for 5 days. They are 3-4 at home with home losses to Sacremento, Clippers and Milwaukee. GS will be very well rested and hopefully more fresh than rusty.
Houston is 2-5 on the road. This is Houston's 5th game in 7 days.
Houston lost to Portland yesterday.
Houston has won 18 of 19 road meetings with GS. Hopefully that changes tonight GS will have the edge in rebounding and being at home hopefully will provide more spark.
Matchup wise if the jump shot fails for Houston I see GS winning comfortable. Dampier has been playing good as of late and Jamison and Richardson shud step it up.
Ben Wallace Over 14 1/2 rebounds
The guy is a monster on the glass. He is the one who will usually grab the defensive rebounds. Wallace has most minutes played on the Detroit team. For the season he is avearging 14.7 rebounds a game.
At home where Pistons play better defence Wallace has:
Knicks: 41 minutes played 14 rebounds
Memphis: 34 minutes played 14 rebounds
Hornets: 31 minutes played 8 rebounds <-- hornets is one of the best rebounding teams in the league
Utah: 42 minutes 15 rebounds
Denver: 41 minutes 13 rebounds
Miami: 41 minutes 19 rebounds
In the game against Dallas on the road:
31 minutes 11 rebounds.
This game was a blowout and he did not play a lot of minutes.
Dallas shot FG - .519, FT - .857, 3PT - .471
I look for todays game to be much more close. Detroit as a team have a great record when comes to facing teams which has beaten them before. Aslo I think Dallas wont have same shooting % on the road in Detroit.
Will Dallas playing a running game the number of shots they take is a lot. So chances of pulling down more rebounds. At home Detroit is not gonna give up and Wallace will play more minutes.
Dallas is not a great offensive rebounding team.
* Am countin on lot of shots put up by Dallas
* Nowitzki hurting may hurt his shots. If so will be good.
* Better defence by Detroit at home against an opponent who
massacred them
* Wallace in last 4 games has 21, 19, 22 and 11 rebounds. The
11 rebounds came against a blowout of Indiana in which he
played only 32 minutes. Since I dont expect a blowout I gather
he will play more minutes.
LETS GO NETS
LETS GO WARRIORS
LETS GO WALLACE
net .. warrior. . wallace .. sounds more like that "BraveHeart" movie by Mel Gibson .. I think the scottish guy who mel was depicting was someone called "Wallace" also who was a "Warrior" but got caught in a "NET".
Good luck and Cheers !!!
Hope we need Scotty tonight
