I am not much of a mechanic and have a question.

I am looking to buy a 1997 Ford F-250 with 114K miles from a private individual for my business. It is clean and runs good.

When I drove it about 10 miles I stopped and looked under the hood. It is a 5.4 triton engine and pulls strong.

My question is the power steering fluid reservoir was bubbling. It is clear and I could see it. In other trucks its not clear so maybe it is supposed to bubble like that due to heat ?

I saw this once before in a Ford I was test driving but it was the overflow antifreeze chamber that was bubbling up.

Not sure and need to decide on this truck.

Any help appreciated.

thanks

just take it to any local oil change shop they can test it for you. I have a chevy 2500 and mine doesnt do that. There might be water or something else in the line.

If the guy is serious about selling the truck he wont have a problem with you getting it checked out.
