A former Bears offensive lineman was 1 of 5 men arrested over the weekend in a bust of an alleged Internet gambling operation.
Authorities say 37-year-old Todd Burger collected gambling debts for suspect Anthony "Cheese" Pecoraro (peh-KAH'-rah-roh).
Burger played for the Chicago Bears from 1993 to 1997, starting 24 games. He was signed by the Bears as a free agent after playing at Penn State.
He later played for the New York Jets.
New Jersey authorities conducted a four-month investigation into the gambling ring.
They say the operation used the Web site www.bet****sports.com to process illegal wagers.
Authorities seized about $70,000 in cash from the suspects in addition to computers and a .357 Magnum handgun
