I'll be honest.. this game has me a little confused...
I saw Nevada play early in the year, beating Purdue at Nev..
I know Nev is having a down year compared to the last several, but not terrible..
When Hawaii kicked their butt (@ Nevada) kind've gave em a wakeup call for a few wks.. but still.. not a great team by any means.
Nevada did beat San Diego St (an above avg defensive team, solid fundamentally) but SD's offense is drastically "down" this year
So maybe Aztecs had decided they could just breeze by a Wolfpack team that had lost by 50+ to Hawaii... and 26 to Utah St.. 28 to Wyoming...
Shows me Nevada can occasionally rise up
Nev scored in the 30's their last few gms... managing a few close wins over the Aztecs, Fresno, and UNM.. before losing a close one to a very average UNLV team (their in-state rival)...
Ohio has Coach Frank Solich... respected and capable, consistent competitive in the MAC for sure
Ohio seems pretty strong on offense.. capable of scoring in fairly high volume..
*scored 34+ points in 6 of their last 7 games (21 in the other)...
Game in Boise (smurf turf)... should be a nice sunny winter's day.
Weather will be in mid-hi 40's w/light breeze.. so it'll be comfortable for either running or passing.. and a fast track.
Bottom Line:
I don't see Nevada defense doing anything special...
I expect Ohio to continue on their 34+ efforts (tm total OVER)
I'm thinking both teams get into the 30s... neither team noted for defense this year at all..
not gonna overthink it.
The line has stayed steady @ Ohio-8...
the total has gone up a point today, and I believe it will be a little higher tomorrow.
OVER 58.5.... 5u (not my max, but large for me!)
1h Over 29.5... 1u
Ohio -8 small/med...
*Like Ohio in a teaser better than the 8 pt spread... but I don't like Nev either lol
NOTE:
I LOVE Clemson in the Finals... I've Loved em the last 4 years!
don't have a strong feeling on the gm total .. yet.
Lsu was able to complete passes all gm vs Okla, even thru some tight windows.. I think Clemson will do a better job on defense..
AND
I hope they attack on offense as they did at the end vs Ohio St..
they have excellent WR's/RB/QB (as does Lsu)... and arguably the best coach (and def. coord) in all of cfb...
I believe they can throw on Lsu IF they protect their qb
I think both teams will score..
a lot more than the Clem/Ohio game...
may tease the total down.. we'll see.. still got 10 days to pull the trigger on that one!
good luck everyone!
