a qb would not save Croom - his game mismanagement is as bad as I've seen in a long time
he's down 10-0 and gets a couple of positive plays to move into LSU territory with 4 minutes left - instead of trying to milk a little clock and have a chance to head into the half down 1 score, he heaves it up into the end zone - even if he scores LSU still has the ball with more than enough time to do whatever they want - then he gets the ball back with 2 minutes and instead of dinking and dunking and making sure he goes in down 10 maximum, he lets his qb heave it down the field and effectively loses the game right there
a qb would obviously help this program, but MSU is NEVER going to go ANYWHERE with Croom at the helm
