This is what 320lb Ryan Krug, Dan Orlovsky, and company came to CT for..some National recognition in a program where they would play early and often in their college careers. Well, CT has won 7 straight....outgained 17 of the last 18 opponents (including BC) and are primed to take it to the Eagles again this year. Shooot ...they had em beat at "the Heights" 2 years ago and the O is far better NOW......Miss Terry Caulley....sure....Mighty Mouse carrying those 270 lb linemen on his back...Well, The only reason he's not getting ready to play is cuz CT is LOADED at tailback......and can use any and all of three backs to gain 100 to 150. Stack the line and Dan O WILL get you...dont......and CT will run behind the whole experienced O line (they are all back).

Defense will be tested by the huge O line of BC but noone is shaking about that passing game..Flat out Ct is a better offensive team and will score tonight. CT won the Time of possesion in last 2 games and did so by moving the sticks...This will be a good game tonight and I'm taking the points. If Orlovsky had started the season a little sharper (flat in first 2 games...playing in spurts.....) I'd give the ML a try.

People still don't think of CT as competitive at this level...and its worth a few points....

help me out here bear, when i look at this game all i can see is bc. eagles handled orlovsky (26/55, 3 int, 0 td) and uconn just fine in storrs last year, and looked pretty good against what i thought would be an improved penn st team last saturday. meanwhile, i was sorely not impressed with the huskies needing fourth quarter heroics and a defensive score to beat duke. i'm down here in acc country, and duke is just plain bad, especially considering that their best defensive player and pass rusher, lb phillip alexander, went down in the first quarter. throw in the fact that they'll be playing on bc's new carpet and probably in some wind and rain and i just get the feeling that it will be mostly eagles tonight. also seeing that now the line is down to -7 makes me like bc even more.

I dont think I am taking this game tonight as it could really go either way....I dont really see a BLOWOUT on either side....If I was taking this one I would probably play UCONN or even better the OVER.......UConn can score and if BC's offense improves I think they get the OVER....JMO. :)

Hey Loop,
You are absolutely right! BC handled Orlovsky last year.....and the O line beat up on the huskies in the first half.....BC 17-7 at the half.. Orlovsky pressed and tried to do too much by himself 55 passes...CT running game was not particularly effective and BC was the better team........although not in another league.... In 2002 it was a "barnburner" at BC........
Now CT improved and continues to improve and they finished the year last year a better club than the one that played BC early...See Wake Forest game etc. This year BC returns 5 or 6 starters on D and on O....... CT returns all of its O line...they protect well and CT averages well over 100 per for the last 2 years.
Orlovsky is the best QB by far (arguably) in the B East..I believe the backs are better and CT is deep there.
CT has NOT been impressive in either of it 2 games.....Orlovskey vs Murray ST had 100 or so yards at the half and CT was tied ....at the end of three he had close to 400 yds and 5 td....sat the 4th
Against Duke he was fkat again but exploded late to get the W (not impressive) but I'm sure they may have been looking ahead a bit to this one....ADD the whole BE/ACC thing ...this likely to be the last meeting for some time between the schools and I believe Ct has a shot to get a W here. At least the game should be competitive. I played early at 8..but would still take 7. Rain may help a far more versatile CT O...and slow the Eagles..????

Just my opinion, but I would stick with the under and take BC in the f/q or f/h.

BC will come start off with a bang and take an early lead. Uconn has showed they tend to start slow.

I'll take BC -1/2 in first quarter -125
BC/Uconn under 48

Bear, with you on UConn. It's a small play for me though.I just see this as the Huskies biggest game of the yr If .they beat BC finally UConn football has arrived. With the Big "O" some good tailbacks and a good OL i think they can hang with the Eagles.UConns defense is the question mark. But they can play tit-for tat football changing scores.
I see BC winning 27-24.
How are you doing? Wow.One more yr Thats great.I have 2 yrs left.I started in 1975 and can tap out in 2006.But I have 2 kids in college now and a soph in HS.If the one at East Stroudsberg goes for her masters I could have 3 in college at the same time.ha Great family planning.Might have to put a few more yrs in.My oldest is in graduate school at UT.Thank god she is on her own.
Hows our boy Timmy doing. No scandals in Fairfield right?
How far are you from Danburry? Maybe one of these days will hook up.I'm 1 hr away.Is it a lot further from you?
GL tonite.Good to talk to you again.
