hou +140 and over 9:

more of a "psychic" play today rather than one based on any numbers. last night, feel both teams were looking forward to this rematch of last sunday's beanball game. actually, the only real beaning that took place was oswalt plunking michael barret in the back after ramirez's home run - no way that was an accident and it's certainly not out of character for roy. wood was simply wild coming of of his five day suspension.

while both teams will probably be focused today, with sunday's game and the wild card race in mind, most likely both pitchers will try to be on their best behavior - you just know the umps will have a word with the managers before this one tees off. the result most likely will be not much pitching inside, and that kind of thing can lead to some big days in wrigley when the wind is blowing steadily straight out to center.

speaking of wood's wildness, it can't be good for him to feel inhibited about pitching in to houston's hitters. it will be interesting to see how jeff kent (one of wood's victims on sunday) does today. he's 11-26 lifetime vs woods and will be ready to lean out over the plate for a fat one, just begging wood to let one fly inside.

both teams are hitting righties pretty well over the last ten games, and with the wind blowing out and possible thunderstorm interruptions, gotta believe that the nine is fairly reachable. and astros have to have this one with their ace on the mound if they're going to compete for the wild card. it appears that oswalt is in better form at the moment, so all things considered, the dog looks like the value.

try to get back later with some evening plays.

nice to see the astros step up when they needed to. wood looked like he might be a good fade for awhile.

liked i mentioned to jack elsewherein the forum, i'll also be fading the o's for most of their current road trip, so mark me down for the rangers -135 tonight.

also, here's some totals i'll be playing this evening:

az/cin under 9

nyy/tor over 11

kc/sea over 8-
