Friday nite..hoops...

1st of all a small recap of last nite...some great coaching esp by the two BE coaches..Buzz and his boys did some job on Miami...talk about helping each other on defense with ball screens..jamming the middle and putting pressure on Larkin thru out...the game plan was stop Larkin and let the others guys beat us..and it worked because the Canes shot 22-65 and 20 of those misses were from the 3...Marquette is so used to playing close games they didn't know how to handle a big lead..must of been nice the last few minutes....

Cuse and Boe...it was almost a clinic on zone defense..Indy had 17 to's, had 11 shots blocked and made Zeller look useless..{ he did get beat up inside with no calls}.but MCW played his best game of the year..Crean couldn't find the seams of the zone and when they shot from the outside they got very few good looks..Triche got ball penetration off the dribble...Indy was 3-15 from the 3...Crean was tak'in to the wood shed last nite..
Wichita rebounding was to much for the Explorers..and the Bucks where lucky because Zona almost beat them...

Oregon +10.5 over Louie ***
Ducks do play defense...think everyone is so impressed with their transition game and attack...the problem is Louie plays better defense with it half court def,zones and traps...Louie creates turnovers and Oregon's biggest problem is they are prone to turnovers...Ducks are peaking with Dotson hitting 3's the whole tournament...Kasemi has played tough inside controlling the bds...Artis and Lloyd are solid gds and Singular is a good fd who can score and pass.. He has 103 assists....Ducks will kick it out and beat you down the court...trying to beat the Louie half court def and pressure...Ducks have a balanced scoring attack..Louie has Smith who is there big scorer and Silva at the pt who creates...Dieng inside..etc...they play great defense and have depth....think the Ducks can hang around here...

Mich +2 over Kansas ***
If Trey and co can get their perimeter game working the Jayhawks could be in trouble..Withey is playing great inside and KU's def on the perimeter is one of the best...their offense is suspect. McClemore is so inconsistent...they have no true pt gd but have managed to get away without one.Mich is also inconsistent but I'll go with the gds and speed....McCleary, Robinson and Hardaway could be to much...sorry corrected that typo..

Mich St +2.5 over Duke ***
Like Izzo's inside players of Nix,Payne and Dawson...pound it in tonite and get Plumlee and Kelly in foul trouble....

Florida Gulf +13.5 over Florida **
I have Florida in almost all my brackets going to the final.Still think they will but like everyone else you have to love this Gulf team...think this is the worst possible match up playing the Gators..Gators have Rosario,Boyton,Wilbekin...Murphy...Young,etc...all athletic and quick...Gulf has Comer a pt gd that is outstanding with great court awareness...Brown,Thompson and Feiler..these guys can play and score..but can they do that vs Florida...My brain is telling me that this could be a blowout and the Gulf Coast bubble could burst but I believe in the Easter Bunny and the Eagles...

McGary has become a force and with Robinson and Hardaway the Dukies migh not have enough defense to stop them.

box, you speak of hardaway, mcgeary and robinson in the Duke Michigan State game....those guys play for Michigan and they play Kansas...now I'm REALLY CONFUSED or perhaps you had a senior moment for a second...:mj07:

:mj07: thanks guys..I fixed it...imagine if Izzo had those Mich players...they would be coming off the bench the way he coaches...wasn't a senior moment but think its the warm weather and slow pace of life...down here in Texas...
