Auburn -16.5 over new orleans
Think the Tigers have to many greyhounds esp at the fd positions.Front line of Killingworth,Robinson and Davis all avg in double digits and each hits the bds.But these 3 hit the off. bds better then most teams in the country. Davis at 6'10 is a big time shot blocker.Young and watson can shoot the 3's.They are very athletic and have been playing together.Killingworth inside never misses.
Naw leans lost Romero so there insdie presence is weak.There three top scorers are gds,6'0,6'2 and 6'3,in Smith,Buggs and McCalebb.There 3 frontline players have good size but are not scorers.
And tonite I think they will have a big problem keeping Auburn off the bds.
UConn -10.5 over Rice
Tough game because UConn has played in cozy Storrs.And lyr UConn when they left Storrs the 1st few times they beat Vandy by 6,won 8 in a row at home and then went on to lose to OU,NC St and Miami.
But this yr they are loaded.Stats forget.FG%,Avg,def avg,3 pt %,etc,etc,etc.Rebounding,etc Only weakness Ft shooting.
Gordon is playing unreal.Okafor returns tonite to houston.Both Browns,Villa,and the rest can out and out play.
Rice is led by 6'6 Harris and 6'4 McKreith.Diene is the 6'9 kid who is another big time shot blocker and great defensive player.
Rice has a lot of talent
This game has players from both sides that played each other and know each from the NY State finals.
Gordon playing for Mt vernon beat Diene from Poughkeepsie in the state semi's.The next yr McKrieth playing for Schenectady won the states.Armstrong from Peekskill lost to MT V the following yr.Nice to see 4 kids I watched playing against each other.
Not really going to play this game.maybe 1 box for UConn but Rice could cover the double digits
