Brown -1 over Yale

Probaly one of the most underated coaches in D-1 is Browns Miller.
This yr trying to find someone to replace All Ivy World Hunt is tough.Yale is talented and has played good comp but they have been a disappointment.
But Brown is quicker on the floor.Forte is a step ahead of everyone.Kilburn might only be 6'5 but plays big.Powers is one of those guys that has "row" 5 range at 6'7.Ruscoe can score and Martin coming back is a godsend.
Miller was an asst at UConn and then coached Conn Col to some unreal records in D-3.I think they won the nationals.
He plays that gd style offense with 4 gds.Thats what gave Yale problems.Motion, fast breaking and transition.Powers,Ruscoe,Kilburn,Martin and of course Forte can all put the ball on the floor.Overall they have more speed.
Unless Yale figures how to defend that they could be in trouble again tonite.Yale has the better talent.Bigger frontline with 6'10 Martin,Vitelli coming off a great game vs brown.Draghan and gamboa are solid gds.Minoff can score.better depth, etc
But I like Brown for a small play.I don't think it was a fluke or Yale just playing poor losing in OT[Yale shot 29-73 and still lead the Ivy in FG%].Yale is top in Ivy in FG%,Bl Shots,2nd in scoring,4th in defense. But brown has their number.
Brown the past 3 or 4 yrs is about 5-2 ats at home each yr.
I think Mitchell is the better coach and knows how to attack the Yalie defense.

Niagara -7.5 over Siena
Here we go again.Niagara already beat Siena by 5 in Albany. They have the most explosive offense in the MAAC,better then Manhattans.Top rebounding team, top scoring margin, top in assits, top in Bl shots, steals, off bds,2nd in FT%,scoring margin, etc, etc, They avg 91 pts in conf play. They are the UNLV of the East. But they have a problem. Its called defense. They play no D.They score 81 pts on Manhattan the best defensive team in the MAAC.But MC score 91 pts. They score 90 pts vs Rider last week but Rider scores 93.
Mendez is 2nd the MAAC in scoring with 23 pts a game.In fact the Purple have 4 guys in the top 10 in scoring. But again they are in 8th and 9th place in def FG%,giving up rebounds 9th,6th defending 3 pt %,etc.etc
Siena is on a comeback. They have won 3 in a row after a terrible start.Getting Jordan back has really helped. He's not there best player but best athlete.Does everything good nothing spectacular.Haddix is their big stud but the saints don't go to him enough. In the Iona game the other nite he doesn't see the ball on about 10 trips down the floor.Saints problem is they have no pt gd.Mitchell is a 2 gd.Jackson is the pt and has a lot of potential. But he is young and playing on the road.Miller,Andrews,Williams all have size at 6'8 or better.
Siena ranks 2nd in rebounding to Niagara in most catogories.Siena has 3 or 4 major problems. They rank last or next to last in FG%,FT 62%,7th in scoring 71 pts,7th in steals,Turnovers, and 9th in 3 pt Fg%.
Their offense is weak. They have no outside shooters that can shoot with consistency Beers is a frosh who can but still a puppy. Siena def vs Fg% abd 3 pt FG def is ranked 2nd in conf.
I'll take the UNLV of the Falls to squeeze out a cover because their offense is so much better.Rebounds are about even. But poor outside shooting by the saints will make Purple double down on haddix and stop his game in the paint.
Outside shooting of Brooks and Dardon with the leading pt gd in assits with Cruz and the poor FT shooting of the Saints give them a win and cover...

Manhattan -27.5 over Loy Md
MC ranks 1st or 2nd in almost every catogory in conf stats.Loy md ranks 10th place in most.Back door cover is the only problem here.Bobby G does have an ego and is looking at the Johnnies job.Who knows if that has an effect.
MC clamps down on defense and contest shots.Loy has no shooters therefore its a low scoring game for them. They will score 55 pts.Thats means MC will have to put up at least 82 pts.I'll throw a few "boxs" on that.

Zaga -13.5 over Portland
Like the play a lot.Others have capped it.It's my strongest play tonite. No time to write it up.Zaga wins by 20.

Zaga -13.5 ******
Niagara -7.5 ****
Brown -1 **
Manhattan **
did pretty well last nite on the Vicodon. It must of effected my picks. But on ibuprofun and tylenol now. That could be trouble..

Nice job.....again
I should Know better than to play a game that you are on the other side of!

Yale, for some reason, only got off 47 shots,,,,Loyola MD gets more than that on their worst nights....74 in last vs Brown???? Anyway...............Kudos to Brown D and a nice call.........
Great night!

CTb News....Backup point guard........Marcus Williams is OUT indefinitely for academic reasons.......Calhoun is thinking of using.........get this.....Charlie Villanueva at the point to give Taliek a blow....Ben Gordon had his nose fixed this week so he'll be in a mask....(effects his dribble somewhat) but "shoot first ask questions later" Rashad Anderson will also spend a little time there. Providence and dd looks pretty good but, but, but????
