parlay, 1 unit bet pays 15:
St Louis Cardinals
New York Mets
Un 7 Arizona Diamondbacks/Los Angeles Dodgers
Cleveland Indians
Los Angeles Angels
yesterday's 4 team parlay had one push, so it ended up as 3 teamer paying 4.71
Atlanta/Chi. Cubs-2:20 pm Sanchez (Darvish --Sanchez, age 34, still knocking around the bigs after a couple of real sucky seasons with Detroit. He signed this spring with Twins, then got released, he then signed with Atlanta, taking Luiz Gohara spot, as he not quite ready yet (ankle sprain) Sanchez beat out Scott Kazmir for the spot. had a 6.41 ERA last season (and 2.22 HR/9! wow!), So far pitched ok (with his typical lots of strikes) his 8 innings for Braves (vs CO and WA) so he's probably due for a blowup, or maybe now.... big money Darvish, after rotten debut with team, bounce back nicely last week (6 innings, 1 ER) and we should see more of that going forward. Atlanta bats have cooled off as Cubs are coming around...Chicago -1.5?...well, good enough chance ATL bats still got something and Cubs still slowly warming up and Darvish have another blah start and Sanchez keep decent - worth a flier at this dog price!
St. Louis/Cincinnati-6:40 pm Weaver (Mahle -- Weaver's done very well considering tough frigid pitching conditions he does not like (last season in 13 appearances, he was 7-2 with a 3.88 ERA, had lowest FIP of all STL starters in 2017), nicer weather now and not a tall order keeping down these Reds bats..Weaver off season ate 5000 calories a day and gained 15 for more endurance, he's up to 184 pounds now!...Mahle sucked after his excellent debut, who knows what we'll get today, and he won't go deep and that Reds bullpen is rather scary, I can see STL winning again.
Colorado/Washington-7:05 pm Freeland (Roark -- two blah starters, I'm on the over considering the potential in these bats..Blackmon probably out again and Arenado's suspension should begin today.
Baltimore/Boston-7:10 pm Tillman (Rodriguez -- In Tillman's starts last season, Baltimore went 8-11, only one of those wins was on the road (at TB) and Tillman was a favorite in 5 of his 8 wins. He played with bit of injury last season, healthy now, and seems worse. Yes, he has good #s vs Bost and at Fenway, but that was a different Tillman back then...E-Rod not very good in his 1st off DL, but there were some flashes as he was getting into the swing of things, I see a better start today. Still, not great or deep, so I'm on that over
N.Y. Yankees/Detroit-7:10 pm Montgomery (Fiers -- Montgomery an ok that and a bad one last week. He just doesn't have it together yet this season....Fiers off a fine start, his debut with new team delayed by back pain. He's off a crummy season at Houston (5.22 ERA across 28 starts and 1 relief), getting older, skills declining (too many walks!), but for $6 mil, Detroit looking for value and veteran presence. He was pretty streaky last season, a string of fine starts followed by a buncha bad ones, but was good vs Yanks....so given the possibility he'll be good and Monty continue to struggle, NYY letdown travel after emotional Boston series and not been good on the road, Detroit is worth taking for the value.
Toronto/Cleveland-7:10 pm Stroman (Clevinger -- Stroman a blah and worse start, tho he was expected to start slowly, delayed due to shoulder inflammation. The worst start folks blame the frigid cold. 67 degrees tonight, with wind 12 mph out to right. He's been excellent vs Cleve. So I expect a nice bounce back start....Clevinger off a couple of excellent starts, mixing his pitches better, and drawing HP umps who are very consistent, thus he can work his fastball location at those edges...So considering those Cleve bats still down, I'll take the Under here, and Cleveland.
Milwaukee/N.Y. Mets-7:10 pm Davies (Matz -- Davies typical sucky and nice start, up and down like his team, who knows what we get here...Matz been pretty inconsistent too, tho he has more upside than Davies, and his team playing well so I guess Mets at this not-too-steep price as those Brewers bats have some significant injuries now.
Pittsburgh/Miami-7:10 pm Kuhl (Peters -- Kuhl off a poor road start, he usually better on road, might be decent here, keep team in game long enough for those Pirates bats to work, he does have good SO and walk numbers and just 1 homer this season...Peters started this season by shutting down Cubs for 6 innings, then a start where he served up two gran slam in one start, a first for a Marlins pitcher. That's Peters in the Majors alright. When his command is on, darn sharp, when it off, uh oh! He did have a 63.3% ground ball rate in minors! Don't know how he'll do today, I doubt he or pitching coach knows either....so leaning to Pitt and the over
Philadelphia/Tampa Bay-7:10 pm Velasquez (Faria -- Velasquez like his old self it seems, one good and one bad start, so flip a coin to decide how he fares today...Faria hadda toss 73 pitches to get thru 1.2 innings in Boston last start, yikes! But he sooo good in sim games and bullpen sessions! I hear you! Tho there are actual games he has to pitch in...TB does have some talent in AAA...anyway, no idea what bet I might make this game, well, since Phillie playing well now, that'd be the way to go I suppose
Chi. White Sox/Minnesota-8:10 pm Lopez (Hughes -- Lopez just darn good mix of pitches now and his heater working excellent, MN has never seen him, still too many walks tho...Hughes off DL, that not the best, but they still not sure if he's gonna start
Texas/Houston-8:10 pm Hamels (Cole -- Hamels been generally blah, and plenty homers, but flashes here and there and with those SO and SWS% - but not like Cole, who has 11 SO in each of his 2 starts! Tho was vs SD and this Rangers team. Still, I can see it continuing for a while, but sure as heck don't like this high chalk to buy Houston. Hamels always capable of tossing a rare excellent one, Houston bullpen not been it's greatest part....
L.A. Angels/Kansas City-8:15 pm Heaney (Hammel -- Heaney season debut today, off DL (left elbow inflammation in his Tommy John arm. He had 1.66 WHIP in 21.2 innings of work last season after his TJ surgery, nice strikes, too many HR (His rookie 2015 season he went 3.49 ERA, 3.73 FIP, 1.20 WHIP)....Hammel off one of those few excellent starts of his that gets Royals fans hopes up, as they talk about his bad luck and FIP than his 5.29 ERA, then...one or both these starters should suck today, so I'm on the over and still riding that LAA train when the number is reasonable...
Arizona/L.A. Dodgers-10:10 pm Greinke (Maeda -- Greinke had an uneven spring, and now an uneven start to season. His velocity still down but picking up some, but no panic yet, we went thru this beginning of last season too. He should be fine today. AZ is 9-3 this season, LAD are 4-7.....Very good and aggressive like he was at end of last season, and like then still not go very deep. He pitched out of the pen last week....lots of folks will be taking this dog..I'm on the under here
Oakland/Seattle-10:10 pm Triggs (Leake -- Triggs we read "with a 2.53 ERA, 2.94 FIP, and 10.97 K/9 to start the year... He?s made a noticeable change that I think could help him in the long run"...and he's always been tough on division foes....Leake been good his starts this season and ever since he came over from Cards last August. Consistent. No idea the side here, but liking the under, bullpens rested but neither is all that good and bats are heating up and Cruz could return tonight..
San Francisco/San Diego-10:10 pm Blach (Ross -- Blach a couple good starts (he and bullpen beat Kershaw!) and a not so good start. That's him, not many SO, he good if limits the HR and walks. He's never done that well vs SD...SF bats starting to wake up, more than you can say for SD.....Ross some OK starts and usually does well here at home....I really no idea what to bet here!
