Kansas City/Detroit-1:10 pm Hammel (Fulmer -- Hammel was pitching around all kinds of trouble in last start, despite how good his line looks last few starts, it seems to me at most he can hope is get closer to his 4.37 FIP of last season than his 5.29 ERA.... Fulmer had that nice 0.68 ERA, but labored thru his last outing, and sported a .263 BABIP and 93.8% strand rate before it - his ERA a more believable 3.86 now. He's pitching to a lot of contact, so he's gonna have some bad starts like that last one. But I don't see KC bats getting to him quite like Indians did. Tigers' bats coming around now..Detroit -129

Pittsburgh/Philadelphia-7:05 pm Nova (Lively -- Nova been pretty decent so far, he has a new grip that is giving more movement on his pitches, but ya think that can't be enough for sustained success, and I expect him to revert back to form as season wears on, but for now...Lively seemed to have an OK rookie season, but the peripherals did not support it, nor the eye test, he just doesn't keep batters uncomfortable in any way. Like Nova, he's ripe for blowup any start...Over..

Toronto/N.Y. Yankees -- Woah, jeeze, who knows here, Estrada had back spasms in last start, they claim he's fine to go today after giving him 7 days rest, and Gray has been working hard on changing some of his mechanics last several days, trying a quick fix to improve his pitching - so who knows how all that will sort out today?...Probably not very good for at least one of these guys..and considering the bats (teams are a combined 14-4-2 to the Over last 10 games each)...Over!....and gotta like the plus money on any decent team vs inconsistent Yanks, Toronto Blue Jays +159

Cleveland/Baltimore-7:05 pm Bauer (Bundy -- Bauer was excellent down the stretch last season, we read here how he retooled his pitching some in the off season, and had excellent spring, and doing great and hot now ...Bundy has started out of the gate nearly as good, which he did last season too (9 QS in his first 10 starts), team promised to rest him more down the stretch as he tires as season wears on...bats on both teams pretty poor so far, so I am taking that under.

Kansas City/Detroit-7:10 pm Junis (Norris -- Junis off his first poor start, in some rotten weather, against these bats I look for him to bounce back here...Norris they say is stretched out to go 4 or maybe 5 innings, Norris battled thru injuries last season to 5.31 ERA in 22 games (18 starts), but sez he's healthy and rarin' to go now...and despite those KC bats pretty poor overall, they are an American League-best .286 against left-handed pitchers...and of course that Tigers pen way way better than KC's...I'm liking KC here

According to The Associated Press, this season?s weather-related postponements through April matched the record set in 2007 since Major League Baseball began keeping records in 1986. [and it's only April 20 now] The postponed games have to be made up, which means doubleheaders.

Minnesota/Tampa Bay-7:10 pm Lynn (Archer -- Lynn 3.38 ERA last season, but a 4.82 FIP, and has pitched like it this season, with a poor and a fine start - so who knows what we get here? Probably blah....Archer been poor alright, but a 3.71 SIERA shows plenty of it could be bad luck (except maybe the HRs?) Arch doesn't have the stuff to be an ace by any means, but he should be a decent starter after it all sorts out...over as you'd think at least one of these starters will suck, and

N.Y. Mets/Atlanta-7:35 pm Syndergaard (Newcomb -- Thor is ramping it up and getting better, but there are lots of dangerous RH bats on this ATL team, would not be surprised if......Newcomb lots of SO and ground balls (too many walks and hits), does have an upside worth watching out for...I had hoped we'd get a better dog price than this for ATL...

Seattle/Texas-8:05 pm Hernandez (Minor -- Hernandez been mostly effective (13 earned runs and 17 hits last 3 starts), and is usually vs TX, just not the dominant King Felix of the past....Minor despite some iffy starts - batters hitting just .182 off his this season, takes his a while to ramp up his play....I'm on the under

Houston/Chi. White Sox-8:10 pm Verlander ..Shields off a nice outing + seems to be improving - that means he's ripe for an damn ugly start!

Cincinnati/St. Louis-8:15 pm Finnegan (Wacha -- Finnegan struggled with rust with his usually struggling command in his 1st start of the year last week (just his 5th start in a year) ....Wacha struggling just as bad....over!...and Cinci.. as those Cinci bats should wake up some with new skipper, and maybe Finnegan can pull it together some as he should have a decent chance for a win...

Chi. Cubs/Colorado-8:40 pm Hendricks (Gray -- man! a guy with control problems, and never a bit SO pitcher, going at Coors now!...and a Coors pitcher struggling with his stuff....can we say Over!

San Francisco/L.A. Angels-10:07 pm Samardzija (Heaney -- Heaney been fine, with this fine team, and The Shark is just starting to ramp up his play for this season, was poor in his single rehab, but they claim he is ready...

Washington/L.A. Dodgers-10:10 pm Scherzer (Kershaw -- Under 6 (-125)...I just can't resist these under Sixes!....line is 5.5 at some books (I think it should be 4.5, but bookies can never set it that low, no one would take it)

Since Clayton Kershaw entered the league, he's accounted for 33% of O/U's closing ≤6.
