Kansas City area for who knows how long....
7pm peeked in sportsbook at Green Valley Station Casino last night and saw my LA/Det under in trouble with 2-2 tie in only 3rd inning, noticed my KC bet lost 1-4, and over at Boston not gonna win as 3-0 at top of ninth.

then later learn LA/Det scored only 1 more run in final five innings, that KC score not final and game postponed money returned, and that Boston went over in OT (isn't it called "extra innings" in this sport?). Figured I went 0-3 and turns out went 2-0! Wish I had this luck with games in an 8-teamer!!

I'm figuring Woods will relax a bit after that fine outing. He usually does. Isn't this the first game this season Cubbies have played on artificial turf? would it make that big a diff?

Colo/Det the sort of unders I like--two usually sharp starting pitchers coming off bad outings, so should be sharper than usual. Just hope the pens don't ruin it...

the pens at Boston are in bad shape tonight, both teams batting well, Johnson gives up lots of runs, and Rupe usually does--but won't be surprised if he is fine in his first start of majors this season. He had some shutouts at start of last season.

Ponson gives up runs, but still gets the job done. Not sure we'll see him falling off anytime soon as he's gonna be a free agent end of season, might get traded before Aug, and gunning for a big raise sez here...........http://www.covers.com/includes/articles.asp?theArt=7364

Pitt's Well is off a bad one too, and is usually sharp and almost always under in next game. TB's Zambrano gettin better and better.

stayed away from AZ game. Liked AZ and under but Rob Vino on KENO AM this morning said Webb a groundball pitcher who did well against teams that like flyball---but today he's going against MN who are patient and do well against groundball pitchers. make any sense to you? Bear with me as I learn some here...this is not only my second season handicapping, but second season of even following the sport! what are your thoughts on this and those Cubbies on turf for first time?

Went 2-0 yesterday, +2.11 units.

That takes it to +13.48 units overall (139-120-3).

nine losing days last 30.

all (but one two unit so far) flat bet 1 unit risk per pic (for example, a +135 pic would pay 1.35 units, a -135 pic would pay 0.74 units).

for fun parlay pics: 1-13 (-11.79)

any comments?

good luck all!!

I don't have any stats to back it up, but I have read on occasion that groundball pitchers do not fare well on artificial turf (like in the Twin's Metrodome) because the ball skips so fast out of the infield.

Anybody have any stats on that?:)

Hey Terry,

I sent you an email last week telling you I was in Vegas. I don't know if Jack gave me an old address but just wanted to give you my info if you want to give me a shout. I am staying at the Budget Suites behind the Stardust...732-1500 room 3107. I am downtown at the library right now but am leaving to go back soon and watch the Blue Jays hopefully whomp up on the Cubs again. Give me a call sometime if you want to shoot the shit or whatnot.

Take it easy,
Drew
