Putrid Pirates pitching postponed my perfect day; they DID get Maroth out of the game in the second inning (partly pitch count and partly he SUCKED); one more Pirates run woulda been nice?but we saw solid (and long) work by the Cards bullpen. Whatevas?three day winning streak in the books now so I'll take it; sure would like a taste of a +10. before this weekend is done, though?actually that would be a fine plus for the entire weekend if I could pull it off?might manage it between the NFL (Colts!), the NCAA AND baseball.
Reds, Dodgers, Tigers and Yankees are system picks for Friday. Reds have hit Bush hard before and should have a good shot with Arroyo going. Dodgers looking decent these days and get a clear mismatch at pitching for this one, not to mention the fact that the Dodgers OPS vs L is about 40 points higher than vs R PLUS they are (or, were) 12-5 on the road to lefties (.706). Both Comerica starters have done good work vs opponent in the past but Justin is the hotter pitcher right now and I'll take the Tigersticks over the M's, too, despite the Tigers run production being down recently. Yankees look about the best as they've handled Meche before and I also expect another fine performance from the kid Kennedy.
I'll be playing 4 of the 6 system totals?the ones with the highest value indicators, actually. I almost decided not to include the Shea and Ameriquest totals for my list as they don't seem likely to me (an under with Pelfrey going?...and the way the Mets hit lefties?...and an OVER with Haren starting?...I dunno?A's should get a bunch off of Volquez and the Rangers should be good for something as Dan's last 3 or 4 games haven't been spectacular?Wandy DID shut out the Mets in their only '07 encounter but Pelfrey has bad numbers vs the 'Stros()). As for the others, Hanrahan might save this under for me, with a decent start, Germano and Dessens are both prime candidates to get hurt at Coors, Wainwright and Webb should provide us with a low-scoring battle in 'Zona (though the production by the Cards yesterday is a bit scary for my under), and Comerica games have been playing under lately PLUS we've got 2 SP's with good numbers vs opponent.
Jeez I can't wait until Saturday?or Sunday, for that matter. Guess I'll have to survive with just the baseball for another day, though I do think that Rutgers looks good for Friday if you (me) can get 'em down to -10 on a teaser (currently -16); I'm taking a couple of shots, there.
Will post picks. Go Yanksticks!
