The Rangers opened lots of eyes when they played competitively in 2004, but the lack of pitching depth that plagued them for so many years seems to have re-emerged (5.13 ERA), making them far less imposing at Arlington Stadium (-$430). The indians have stumbled a bit offensively (.225 BA, worst in the AL), but they?ve got some pitchers we like, including Cliff Lee, who has led this team to wins in all three of his starts on the road (2.61 ERA). Texas has averaged a paltry 3.5 runs per game vs. lefties so far. BEST BET: Lee.
Yesterday's win over the Royals pushed Chicago's record
vs. righthanders to a staggering 16-4 (+$1195). Tonight they
get a chance to improve on that number vs. a pitcher who's
team is winless in all five of his starts so far (Bush -$500, 4.97
ERA). "El Dugue" Hernandez has been displaying outstanding
form as part of the best starting rotation in the AL (+$325, 2.70
ERA). He'll make short wotk of a Toronto team that is only 1-4
(-$305) against righthanders in night games at Skydome. We've
done well riding the White Sox thus far, and will look to back
them in as many road games as possible, when short prices
are available.
