I hope you don't get upset but i just want to try to figure out how you calculate your units.
For example

Cubs -180 4*

If you lose you are counting it as a 4 unit lose but it should be a 7.2 lose
and if you win it would be a 4 unit win,

Please explain your system because I would like to know how it works. Also keep up the great work.
Lets have a great season.

Jordan23,

It seems as If Pgh Kid has not factored in the Juice on his losses, maybe an oversight on his part. I guess he could answer on his behalf.

No offense Pgh Kid, but you have to calculate the Juice on your losses if you are keeping track of your units.

Cheers

Good work :)

No offense taken guys. I calculate units by the *'s.Win 5* Lose 4*= +1 Unit.Lose 5* Win 4 * = -1 unit etc . You could play a 4* at -120 and lay 480 to 400 or 400 to 333. I'm not gonna sit here and figure all that out.I just add or subtract the 3,4 or 5 * that I rate the plays. I'm more worried about picking winners which is what this is all about. Toronto , you're right , I could figure out the juice on my losses , but then ,I guess , I would also have to add more units for the dogs I give you.

Hey Pgh Kid,

thanks for not taking it the wrong way, I am just trying to understand your system

So let me get this straight, if you have a play rated as 4* on a
-120 it is calculated as risking 480 to win 400 or 400 to win 333, ok I get that part. But what I don't seem to understand is and it seems by your method of calculating units is that if you are risking 400 to win 333, how come your adding 4 units to your total instead of 3.33?

Thanks

I re read your reply and I understand the sytem that you are using, fine with me as you are only going by the stars, but you have to realize that there are individuals out there who may be following your plays and they may be mislead by your units.

So for example, if you are laying a 4* play on a -200 team, you are either risking 800 to win 400 or risking 400 to win 200, if you lose that wager, you are subtracting 4 units instead of 8. Just want the followers to understand how your system works because it may put a hole in their money management calculations.

As long as they that it is fine, but trust me Pgh Kid, you could have some followers coming down your throat by misleading them, as long as you make them aware of this they won't trash talk you.

Anyways, who cares right? We are here to pick winners adn that is the bottom line, I hope you don't feel I am coming down on you cuz I am not. If you noticed, I have been one to congratulate you on your winners and offer of support.

Go get em tiger, much continued success to you.

By the way are you near Duquense University???

Keep it up

Cheers

CONGRATS MY PGH. BROTHER ON A GREAT START IN BASES.

one word of advise.....i believe it would be in your best interest
to take a little extra time and figure ure unit record out correctly.
because in BETTING BASEBALL, won/loss record doesnt mean a thing. BASEBALL is all about units won.
u may not be intentionally trying to deceive your followers, but it could appear that way. your current system of calculating your units is heavily swayed in making your unit record appear much better than it actualy is. especially if you are mostly a favorite bettor. yesterday, you made 12 plays and 11 of those plays had atleast 10 cents worth of juice. 6 plays were side/favs....5 plays were totals or pick em sides....1 play was a dog. so, even if your not adding in the juice won from your dog winners to your unit record..... slighting the dog juice is just a drop in the bucket, compared to how many units lost on your fav./pickem plays.

there appears to be alot newcomers to the baseball forum, have seen quite a few asking questions. i think they should be aware of the importance of a cappers unit record when betting basesball. you mention that its all about pickin winners, but in betting baseball thats not exactly true. its very possible to hit 60+% of your plays and still lose money, if your a favorite player. just as its possible to have a losing w/l record and be plus units.

im sure u will do what you want, but i gaurantee people will be asking you about ure current form of rec. keeping all yr.

not trying to start any bullsh.t with u, just trying to help.
you had a hell of a start 33-13 is AWESOME theres not a capper around doing any better, just hate to see your record tainted by your current system.

GLUCK, PGH. KID....HOPE YOU CONTINUE PICKIN WINNERS,ILL BE ROOTIN FOR YA!

PS. im in greenfield...where u from?
