NJ may not play BRODUER here, saving him for BOSTON tomorrow, but we'll see. Tempted to play the OVER, but passing. I think NJ wins tonite though against a poor PITT team.

DET is playing well at home, DAL is hurting and HASEK has been resting since MONDAY. Should be solid in net tonite and get enough goals to cover... only concern is the tendency for these teams to tie.

MINN/FLA - who's gonna score??? May get OT knotted at zilch.

CALGARY is due to beat STL and with STL missing so much on DEF, tonite's the nite. Like the OVER also since STL is playing their last road game before heading home, so they should go all out tonite with what they got and their only hope to win is to outscore the FLAMES.

As everyone knows, DUCKS started out 0-5 this year and were struggling to score. They've put it together in the last couple of games beating SJ and PHIL it OT. FEDEROV finally got a goal for ANA and that bodes well for this team. If he gets hot, he can carry this team. Another point is the teams they lost to, 4 of which may very well make the playoffs. The slow start was due IMO to lots of changes for ANA over the offseason, and the scheduling.

BUFF is coming off a huge win at STAPLES last nite, pasting the KINGS 5-1. Hard to believe the KINGS let that happen, but I'm sure the DUCKS were watching that game. Not sure who is going to be in goal for BUFF, but if their tendency continues, this game will go over 5 goals. Their games have totalled 2,6,7,5,2,7,6 and tonite we need 5, how much easier can it get than that?

I actually think ANA will emphasize pressure and speed to offset the BUFF toughness. IF ANA plays their speed game and stays out of the macho stuff with the SABRES, I can see them pulling away in this one and winning 4-2.

Hit both my DOUBLES tonite for a non-negative nite despite losing more games than I hit. It still felt like losing though since the nite started so promising with both DET and NJ winning. I was nervous about the CALGARY play since STL has dominated them lately and CALG has not been able to generate any offense yet. BUT, as noted by DDUBS I believe, with all the D men missing for STL, you'd think FLAMES would be able to take advantage of all the young guys and put some pucks in the net. I guess you can't mix FLAMES with ICE and expect anything but to get wet...

Oh well... Saturday is here!

I edited my record to reflect the TRIPLE play I lost to account for the missing units. It was DAL at -160 awhile back and knocked my units down. I had included it in my overall record, just didn't want to mislead anyone on my TRIPLES.
