Funniest Play I think I've ever seen

Did anyone see the play in the 1st inning of the Cardinal-Brewer game last night? Miguel Cairo had a 2 hopper to him, took his little crow hop in anticipation of throwing to first base, got his own feet tangled, and then fell flat on his face - still holding the ball.

I've never laughed so hard at a baseball game that I attended..:mj07:

However, on the flip side, I have also never been as mad as I was at our genius Nedly Yost, putting in Turnblow - and KEEPING him in to walk in a run.

And Yost having McClung come in and drill Sir Albert to get back at LaRussa in a 1 run game they had to have? It just shows how DUMB NED YOST is...

Been saying that all year, Mags. What a moron. Fire him in the off-season--and make sure Maddux goes with him, spend some $$ on a few decent arms and this team can dominate the NL Central for years to come...

Ned Yost must not want to win if he brings Seth Mc Schlong into a tight game this late in the season. He was so bad the Devil Rays sent him away, their pitching really hit the skids by July. Sucks for Brewer fans, b/c this season looked so promising. Also agree with you guys about Turnblow.

The story is, Ned brought in McClung to hit Pujols as retaliation for the Cards going after Fielder. While I respect the gamesmanship, how dumb is it to be putting runners on base, down 1 in the 8th, in a game you had to have?

The worst thing - our owner, Mark A, has already announced that Yost is coming back next year.

Let's hope Mr. Mark wakes up and does the right thing. NED YOST MUST GO.

I agree with you but you have to consider what (Manager) is out there. We can't keep getting these guys that don't have any experience.

The guy that would have been perfect, in my opinion, was Cecil Cooper. But now Houston has already snagged him.

I was telling everyone I knew back in July that it was the right time to can Yost and bring in Cooper. It would have lit a fire under them back then and the fans would have loved it.

Instead Mark A let the team continue to struggle under Yost, and let this golden opportunity for a division title slip by. They could have won this division with 85-86 wins.

Now - who knows if the future will be bright - the NL Central can't be this bad forever, can it??

No it won't but you have to consider the Brewers have the young talent for years to come. Cooper might have been good, but I am not sure if he has the managerial skills to do that. I noticed a couple of times when the Brewers played them that he did not make the correct decisions.
