I see tremendous value in Va Tech. Oklahoma will be outstanding but with Jason White at QB, they won't score as much as they should pressuring their Defense a little too much.

Home Wrecker - I agree with you on Texas but I've seen much better odds. Anywhere from 10:1 to 15:1. Look around as I think there is great value with the Longhorns this year. Also, I placed a unit wager on Tenn but at 30:1. ;)

Good luck this year!

ND2002HORNS - Virginia seems to be a good choice for a longshot as they are solid on both sides. Even looking with an open mind at ND this year, as they are my least favorite sports team of all time, I can't see where the hype is on this team.

The two biggest things going against them this year seem to be:

1) They aren't going to sneak up on anyone this year

and...

2) If they are 4-4 or better after the first 8 games it will definitely be "Divine Intervention". @Mich, MSU, @Pur, @Pitt, USC, FSU... normally I'd state how I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy but in this case...

Anyway, if you have any input or thoughts as to why this team could contend I'm all ears. 8-4 with a New Year's Day Bowl would be a great year in South Bend...

I think Texas will have a much different complexion to them this year, as they have drastically altered their conditioning and shed a lot of body fat across the board. They are as talented as anyone in the country, and this QB Chance Mock is going to be one helluva player. They have a freak in the wings by the name of Vincent Young and if he can get it together, he is going to be special. ESPN 3 might be the best player in the Country this year.

bigdad - I agree with you on the Horns, they need to beat the Sooners if they are going to have any chance at going undefeated and mind you K.St. is a solid team this year as well. Mack will have to coach his ass off this year!
As for ND, you are right about the first 8 games, they always have a suicide schedule. The test for the Irish will be how their O-Line plays losing 4 of 5 starters and of course Jeff Faine leaving early did not help matters. Maurice Stovall and Reema McKnight are great young receivers and getting Julius Jones back at RB along with 1000 yd. back Ryan Grant they now have a great one-two punch. Holliday should be much better with a year under his belt with Ty's system. He has looked very solid in spring training. The Irish D again will be their strength and their kicking game will be solid as well. If their offense can be a little more consistent than last year and their D and special teams keep on playing the way they are capable of(Vontez Duff one of the best return guys in the country) then if could be another super season like last year! Hope this helps.
