Sorry bud. I like Richt, but with all the talent he gets every year, you'd expect more results. UGA should be winning the East every year right now.
Richt does more with less than any coach in today's college football. Can anybody explain the beatdown by an average Florida team last year? The guy has annual Top 5 to 10 recruiting classes in one of the more fertile recruiting states but as we all know he is a great guy.
The Florida-Georgia game is about as intense of a rivalry as we will find anywhere. Hardly anything surprises me when those 2 tee it up, and revenge can be huge. I was on Florida last year but was somewhat surprised when they won SU. There's no way I could take Florida this year; it will be either Georgia or nothing. I've always had a standing rule to never bet on either team the week before they play each other; they are just too focused looking ahead. Florida wasn't that bad of a team last year, they were very physical, had a really good defense, and could run the ball; my guess is that Florida just came out with their ears pinned back and Georgia took them a little to lightly; and beating Georgia probably made their season for the Gators.
I haven't checked any schedules, but Georgia's two main problems appear to have been Florida and South Carolina I would suspect. I don't think SC is near the rivalry as Florida but I think GA/SC is a rivalry nevertheless; I'm sure some of the SC/Ga fans would know.
