HBO Real Sports with Bryant gumbell is highlighting casinos and sportsbooks and how they come up with the lines.

I know it's on tonight at 10 est. on one of my HBO's and I'm sure it will be aired a few times.

Just thought people with the same gambling interests would like to know.

On the course!
I liked the report.

I thought it was funny when the father/son bet opposite sides on the Packer/Niner game......They both marched up to the window, and plopped $550 on their side!

Now, wouldn't you think these "wise guys" would have made a bet with each other, and saved the "juice"?

Might have been able to buy mom a nice gift.

Somewhere in Corn Country
the part of the story I liked the most was when the linesmaker told the interviewer that they DO NOT set lines based on team A beating team B by 3 points, but rather to get EQUAL action on both sides and pocket the 10 percent.
SO many people that bet on sporting events do not understand this or many other aspects of gambling.
The final segment of the show was very cool as well. That guy is one cool dude for being there for those kids.....

Geez, I thought the same thing when the father / son wiseguy team bet $500 against each other at the window.........after discussing the game with each other on top of it. Maybe trust (even family)at that end of the business is a little on the short side? I dunno, send me the $50 next time, guys. I suppose, in all probability, that HBO set the scene up that way, I doubt if they just filmed the stuff "at large". But, what were they trying to prove/say/relate with that? It sort of set the tone with me that the show was, perhaps, a bit uncredible at best. But, I did enjoy it, nonetheless, & consider it worthwhile. More than worthwhile if a handful will learn from the Tose segment. And, yes, they were right.......I hear it and chuckle all the time also when A game lands on the number......"Geezus it's fixed" or "How did they know it was gonna end like that?" Then they wonder why they can't hit the 52.3 that it takes !! Hit em Again.....THE HITMAN

Real Sports was was a good show as usual. Found it interesting that all the NFL lines are tested out at books in the Carribean before they even hit the US market. That story on Leonard Tose was unbelievable...This guy went from the Penthouse to the Outhouse. Can't even afford a ticket to the Eagles' game!!!!
Pretty sad stuff.

That Leonard Tose story was depressing as hell, especially since he was such a major contributor to the surrounding community. It was his own fault for losing his fortune, but I can't help feeling some sense of remorse for him. Money obviously didn't matter to the guy and it was more about people than money. Damn shame.
