Some elements of the Windows Operating environment, although not critically necesssary to it, have been integrated so well into the OS itself that it is not possible to remove all traces of these modules without rendering the system inoperable.

The modules I am refering to are the fancy GUI stuff.

Unlike the UNIX kernel based OS's, Windows does not give the user the option of loading the OS without the GUI --- in the recent versions, even in Safe Mode. Perhaps for the fear that everyone will find out that despite all their claims, Micro$oft never stopped using MS-DOS as the foundation. Which means that all these "new" products they have been coming out with are really not new, but bugfixes for a bug filled product to begin ith.

Truth in advertising!!! Whenever they say "new and improved" the improved is a maybe, and the "new" needs to be taken with a grain of salt, pepper, spice, whathaveyou.

SpyBot is like an BroadSpectrum anti-biotic., which wipes out all bacterii, beneficial and detrimental, without discrimination. So my comment revolves around being watchful and wary of this.

SpyBot does give the user the ability of keeping what is needed and removing only those items which are causing issues. But then, the makers of SpyBot assume that the user already knows what is needed, so anything new can be identified and flagged for removal.

In the hands of those who have not made a determination of what is essential for the system, and will kill the OS if removed. SpyBot becomes a hammer/monkeywrench which can destroy an otherwise working system.
