The idiots are apparently running the asylim, as a judge sentenced William Ligue to just 30 months probation for his violent attack on KC coach Tom Gamboa. The judges rationale? "The players behavior encourages fan violence". The judge must have been sucking down the same loudmouth soup that Ligue was. Even Ligue seemed surprised by the decision, as he thanked him in a press conference following the trial.

What a fukcin' joke of a sentence on this one, Valuist. I about chit when I heard that they gave that loser that lieneint of a sentence for that attack. Gamoba still has hearing problems from the attack.

I know the low-life doesn't have a dime to his name, but if I was MLB, the Kansas City Royals and Gamboa himself, I'd be filing a 100 million dollar civil lawsuit against Ligue just as a matter of principle.

On another note--

Was in Chicago for the All-Star game and went by the "new" Soldier Field...

Could that monstrosity be any uglier?

It would be difficult to make it uglier. It seems so odd around all the beautiful landscape that's on the lakefront. I just hope that I can go to the men's room without having 20 people have to get out of their seats.

I agree, that is a travesty. How was Gamboa encouraging violence? If it's the players, why not attack the right fielder?? The civil suit would be a waste since u can't squeeze blood out of a turnip, but it might dick with him a little and cause him to waste some of his time back in court. Might be a good idea.

i agree that this decision is a disgrace!! people have to be held accountable for their actions.

this is an example of why our court system has to be over hauled.

AR, you would think it should be that way, but it isn't. Most states have what they call "no fault" laws when dealing with divorces, so no matter what you did to create the seperation in the marriage, it doesn't matter. You might be crimanally liable in some instances, but as far as the divorce goes, tough shit.

I went through a child relocation case this last year and lost. My daughter now lives in Dallas and I live in KC. A few facts of the case: My X is 39 and on her fourth marriage (I was dumbass #2), drug my daughter through three different guys homes in eight years. I helped coach her various athletic teams, went to every parent/teacher conference, helped her with every school project and homework and bailed her mom and numerous financial situations. The judge told both attornies that the case was going to hinge on how active a father I was before the trial started. After the trial was over he sat on his perch and told me I was the best dad that ever walked into his courtroom, but he wasn't going to seperate the daughter from the mother after all the dirt was heard. She even admitted to sending me an email that stated that if she didn't win the court case, she would make sure that I would see my daughter the least amount of time as possible, no matter what my daughter wanted. The law clearly states that the proposed relocation must be made in good faith. I guess he has a different idea what good faith is. Our justice system is a fuhking joke, and after what this judge sentenced this moron in Chicago to, it only adds more support to my argument. Common sense has no place in our justice system unfortunately and when the judges make a ruling and don't pay any attention to what the law says, I just wonder why all the state lawmakers are wasting their time passing these laws. I could go on and on, but one thing I learned is that honesty doens't pay, and lie your ass off if it something that can't be proven. My X lied during the whole testimony, and that idiot bought every bit of it, even after my attorney shot it down. I got a notice the other day saying I might get selected for jury duty. I can't wait to go down there and let them know how I feel about our justice system. I think I will have a short stay. Good Luck

sorry for your situation, capt. crunch. That sounds like a horrible thing, and I'm sure u feel helpless. Is there any way you can move to be closer to your daughter? How old does your daughter have to be before she could request/choose to live with you? When I hear about stuff like this, especially with a mother who shacks up with a bunch of losers dragging children along, it makes me sick. Literally, my stomach now hurts, and I'm nauseated. Seems like this fact should be more damaging than it is. I sure hope u can get a better outcome in the near future.

Depends on the judge you get. I had agreat one 21 years ago. I will never forget all the good he did for me. Some times they look at men as big BS'ers becasue so many dont do chit for there kids.
Anyway back to the subject. How these two dudes didn't get at least 1 or 2 yeasr each is nuts.

captain crunch,

sorry to hear about your troubles. my brother had a similar problem, about 30 years ago when he divorced his first wife. the ny judge gave custody to the mother & was ordered that she couldn't move the children out of the state. she ignored the judge & proceeded to move the kids to florida. my brother was told that nothing could be done.

it sucks, doesn't it?
