Thanks.... found it.

Interesting stuff here.... with MARSH behind the plate, games lined at 8.5 or less are 2-8 O/U and Home Dogs are only 1-6.....

Hmmmm seems Mr Marsh calls em fair, but favors the better teams and better pitchers. His K/Walk ratio could be better, 12.2 to 7.9 for a ratio of 1.54, but apparently when two good pitchers are on the hill, they get the calls hence the 2-8 O/U record. BUT, when the game is lined at 9 or more, an amazing 13-1 OVER!!!!!!! :scared

This tells me he favors superior pitchers, gives them the calls, but gives little respect to lesser pitchers and higher run totals. His average is pretty high for runs scored early and against starters, but it would be interesting to see his breakdown for each game.

Going back three years, his numbers are very consistent landing between 60-61% strike ratio and his K/BB ratio staying at 1.54 to 1.55. His record shows a consisten OVER bias, but again, that includes alot of ROCKIE games or something with a lack of pitching... still liking BOSOX and UNDER here....

When you look at the games in BOLD, all involving a #1 or #2 starter for at least one team or both, his O/U record is 2 Overs & 7 Unders. His walks drop to an average of 6.44 a game. In other words, my theory seems to hold true. When a good or excellent pitcher is on the hill, they do get the calls and the respect from this ump.

SO....If you're a chump, you hate this ump!!! :142lmao:

Notice that three game run.... 12, 15, and 12 WALKS!!! Ouch! :scared

** Or the amount of hits and walks in these!!

Watch yourself here guys. You can't put much stock in what they did during the regulas season. For instance, Randy Marsh was one of my best moneymakers this season. He is a fav ump going 20-5 on the season while Welke was also a big winner for me going 23-10 hometeam. I don't think Marsh will go for either team tonight. He is too good for that in the play-offs. What we need to concentrate on is what strike zone they are going to use for this series. That will set the tone and could be an adv for one of the teams. The narrow zone will fav the team with power while the wider zone will fav the better hitting and base running team. Good luck

Thanks gsp....

I was hoping you would chime in as I know you are the "UMPS" man. My point is merely it seems MARSH gives a certain respect to the better pitchers, aka, wider zone, and his numbers seem to reflect that when a good pitcher is on the hill.

I'm not basing all my analysis on this one bit of info, but I think there is some evidence here to indicate that may be his style. Has been a FAV ump, that's for sure, and mostly an OVER one as well. BUT, as I pointed out, when a top notch hurler is pitching, they appear to get the corners or something to keep down the hits and walks.

Any other replies are welcomed!

Myself, I'm thinking a wider zone is in the works tonite and thus, I'm going UNDER. I think BOST wins this one 4-2.
