Here we go again, The phily Flyers! Damn I hate this team but they do play good hockey. Here are my usual points I follow during playoff times:
Goaltending - Leafs with Belfour are much better in this category. Esche is basically a rookie when it comes to playoff time. Yes he played good against New Jersey but Belfour by far is much better
Heart - All I hear on Toronto Radio Stations is leafs have heart blah blah blah... I understand when you compare them to Ottawa but Phily has a lot of Vets and North American Leaders which do have Heart. Rodnick, LeClair, Primeau just to name a few. Heart is completly even IMO
Disiciple - Both teams need to be good in this department but both teams can be bad in this department. Even for both teams
Skill & Speed - Leafs have a slight advantage here basically because of a better defense and faster overall team. Again, just my IMO.
Strength - Phily is much stronger physcially than the Leafs. When phily goes in front of the net vs Kaberle, Leetch and even Mcabe, the will not be able to hold them down for long..
So, Leafs have a better advantage on paper (on my paper
BUT... I think the Flyers with the rest and determination this year will take them out first game easy. Leafs need Sundin and Nolan back to compete.
