Went to the cabin a couple of weeks ago and put out the cameras. Threw out some corn and let them set for 2 weeks. Pulled the cards when we were up there this past weekend. These pics came from the camera that was 75 yards from the cabin.

Just getting the antlers. Will be interesting to to see how big they get.

Showed these next pics to a logger in the area and he guesses the bear would go about 300 lbs.

awesome pics and whay type of camera are you using,model-make if you wouldnt mind, into hunting BIG TIME and here in Jersey with all the land being DEVELOPED(in the Garden State due to greedy politicians) its getting harder and harder to pot hunt or do drives....a camera readily lets you know whos and whats visiting your area..making the season way more successful!!! What did it run you if you dont mind as well.....the model I bought was late taking pics and not too easily concealed I may have found out who stole it if I could of got the film:142smilie . Sucks when people dont honor things and you just cant do things as we once use to, had 2 portable tree stands stloen from me as well! Please keep posting....:SIB

jer-z jock... The camera is a Reconyx RC-55. Takes color pics during the day and b/w at night. The "wake up" speed is incredible. 1/5th of a second. The night pics can be a little grainy but its nothing to major. This camera has I/R for a flash. It dosent bother the does or fawns but I believe it does the bucks. This camera cost $500.

The company came out with a RC-60 model this year and I picked it up. This camera is the exact same as the RC-55 except there is no flash for the night pics. I have no idea how it gets enough light but it will take a night pic and light up the area up to 30 feet. I took it into a windowless room with out the lights on and moved it around to get some pics. No flash or anything..but the pics came out like there was one. This one will be awesome for the bucks. They will never know its out there. This one was $600.

We reset both cameras this weekend and will go up there in about 3 weeks to check them again. I was worried the 1st 2 weeks because that is alot of money sitting in the woods. We have never had anyone come close to our property even though we have county land on all four sides. The last owner told us the same thing. Feel a little easier with them out there this time. Both cameras have a 4 digit code-lock. If someone stole the camera they would have to figure out what it was before they could use the camera. Also if it gets stolen you call Reconyx and give them the serial numbers so if someone calls and wants to reset it, Reconyx will know its stolen.

Nice pics UGA12. It dosent take them long to eat up 100lbs of corn. The price of it went up from $5.00 to $7.50 since fall. A year ago it was $3.50.

Cameras sat out for 3 weeks this time. One camera took 2100 pics and the other took 750 pics. When we got to the cabin we noticed the metal garbage can that the corn was in (75lbs worth) was knocked over and the corn (along with the bag) was missing.

When we checked the camera we actually got a picture of the thief. You can see him carrying the bag. This camera is 75 yards from the cabin.

We also found out there is a family of 4 bears hanging around. The pic of the bear in the beginning of this thread is not part of the family of 4.

Before we left this time we put out a bunch of bacon grease, marshmellows, and cereal. Will check the camera again on the 4th to see what it caught.

Have to admit I was laughing when I seen the black bear running with the 75 lb bag of corn.

You should let me and SixFive come up there and stay on a weekend.

I will bring my big game gun, and me and SixFive will shoot that mother and all the cubs.
Take out a entire generation of black bears.

Skin them on the spot and eat the heart cooked over a camp fire with some whiskey and beers.

Cut the mothers paws off and make stools with the feet. This goes over big in Kentucky

Salt the hides and put them in the sun to cure.

Get home and sell them skins for about a grand or more.

Sounds like a fun weekend !

Keep throwing that corn and peanuts out there.

Sorry but I have to call deer jacker.

Great picks gents. :toast:

But I just had to vent my frustrations. :topic:

Three weeks ago I paid $3.95/gal .
Today I paid $4.69/gal.
