should be no surprises with goalies today. Days to rest before and after tonight, and teams use main guy alot anyway.
Columbus--Denis.....team is playing 3rd game in 4 nights....Denis is 3-3-1 vs Yotes, 2.14 gga, .931 save pct....Bluejackets are 0-3-1 all time in desert.....Denis over is 7-3 on road, Boucher over is 6-2 at home.
Phoenix---Boucher. He's 3-0-1 vs Clumb, letting in 7 goals total. All three wins were at Clumbs.....Phx is 9-1 ATS last three seasons after losing 3 or more games in a row (2-1 this season).....Phx is 21 in PP%, and no3 is most PP goals allowed.
Calgary---Turek. He has been excellent of late, standing on his head last few games. He's 6-6-1 vs Van, 2.45 gga, .902 pct. And he's 4-1 his last five starts at Vancouver.
from Calgary Herald:
The Flames are enjoying the most modest of streaks -- unbeaten in two -- since the firing of head coach Greg Gilbert a week ago. "The guys feel a lot better about our play in the last couple of games," said D Robyn Regehr. "Now, we're trusting each other out on the ice -- that everyone is going to do their own job."
Calgary over on road, with total set at 5 or less, has hit 3-1 this season, 26-16 last three seasons, and 47-23 since '97. There's a solid $$$ trend! but with 2 hot goalies, not sure about tonight...
Vancouver---Cloutier. He's 3-2-0 vs Calgary, 2.13 gga, .926 save pct....Boughner will play tonight sez official site. Iginla is gametime decision....This team is tired, having a Charity event at hospital after long road trip, then loss to Wild, and yesterday a skills competition....Van PP dismal 1-13 last 3 games.
from Calg Herald:
Off a remarkably successful road trip -- five wins in six stops -- they were wiped out by Minnesota RW Marian Gaborik on Saturday night at GM Place. Three times did the 20-year-old score in the Wild's 4-2 win. "We know we have to play their top players tight and we didn't. We gave him two or three two-on-ones and you know he's going to put the puck in at least one or two times," said LW Markus Naslund. "They played us defensively pretty solid and that's when you need those point shots with screen and rebounds and those kinds of goals. We have to do a better job of that." . . . Because of that, the Canucks will be primed to punish the Flames
Van also primed to win, as they are just one point in standings over Wild and surging Edmonton is only 3 behind.
lots of games next five days.
good luck to everyone!!
