Being a chiropractor as well, I agree with the pro-chiro guys who responded. Getting adjusted by a chiro has a very minimal chance of worsening your condition. One thing to note about back surgery, the primary goal is not to get rid of low back pain, its to get rid of leg pain.

Some people have mentioned epidurals. While they might help some people, they usually only offer temporary relief. If your disc bulge, herniation, etc. is over 4mm, I would suggest a discogram as the next step. They inject dye into each of your discs and pinpoint where the pain is coming from. If one of your discs is "leaking", then you may want to consider getting an IDET. In this procedure, they insert a slim metal wire into the "leaking" disc, gradually heat it up and weld the broken ends together. My patients have responded pretty well to this procedure when necessary.

If you don't have a chiro in the area, you may want to give a call to a friend of mine in Vegas. Dr. Randall Robirds, located on Decatur and the 395. He's pretty unorthodox, but gets tremendous results.

Take care.

Did not see any update on another thread so am responding here. CT scan is checking for possible tear in abdominal aorta. Any MRI results yet? A spinal tap or lumbar puncture most commonly checks for meningitis although it can diagnose other conditions. Tests results for spinal taps may take a few days. There is a possibility that you may get headaches due to leakage of the CSF (spinal fluid). Hopefully the doctor went in a thicker area, which is less likely to leak.
