Mr. Dog

Marshall will play WVU very tough this week. This is their super bowl. They finally get WVU at home. Also, keep in mind...WVU plays at Maryland just 5 days later. I doubt they keep starters in "if" the game gets out of hand....which will more than likely get you moosed.

I am here to help you.

Just too early for me to slamming it down on any one game.

Still feeling out the college teams and their chances.

Last week favorites kicked ass. I think it goes into the second week , and then the dogs will come
to the barn to get fed.

I had some chalk for breakfast then for lunch I plan on having chalk.

No. 14 Penn St. finally gets second shot at Irish after big loss

The 14th-ranked Nittany Lions haven't forgotten last season's 41-17 loss at Notre Dame, the first meeting between the schools since the Irish won 17-16 in 1992.

"It's embarrassing. We played terrible against them last year," Penn State linebacker Dan Conner said. "Since the beginning of the season, the Notre Dame game is something we have been looking forward to."

After recording seven sacks and holding FIU to 114 yards, the experienced Penn State defense -- which has three shutouts in its last six games -- should be eager to face the Irish, who were held to 122 yards against Georgia Tech.

"We're going to be ready this week," said Penn State linebacker Sean Lee, who was named Big Ten defensive player of the week after recording seven tackles, a sack and forcing a fumble last Saturday. "We know the implications of this game. It's very exciting. We're going to be ready to play."

Penn State coach Joe Paterno made his first appearance on the sideline since breaking his left leg last November at Wisconsin, and saw senior quarterback Anthony Morelli go 23-for-38 for a career-high 295 yards and three touchdowns as the Nittany Lions outgained FIU 549-114.

Morelli, who is coming off a season where he threw for 2,224 yards and 11 touchdowns, played well with the game out of reach against Notre Dame last season, going 21-for-33 for 189 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

Clausen will replace Jones as the starter Saturday. Weis opted not to start him against Georgia Tech since he was recovering from arthroscopic elbow surgery and wasn't fully healthy.:SIB

Making matters worse, Notre Dame was held to minus-8 rushing yards on 41 carries and failed to score a touchdown for the first time in a season opener since a 20-12 loss at Michigan on Sept. 14, 1985.

"There's a whole litany of problems right there that we have to fix," said Weis, whose team will try to avoid losing four consecutive games for the first time since it fell to Oregon State in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1, 2001, and dropped the first three contests of the 2001 season.

Notre Dame is 9-8-1 all-time against Penn State.

Kinda hard to feel sorry for Notre Dame.

All its going to take is one defensive end to get a hard hit on the freshmans shoulder , and he will
be a Clausen pickle.

GAME NOTES:

Alabama has won its past 19 meetings with Vanderbilt. The Commodores' most recent win over the Tide came in 1984. ... Vanderbilt hasn't beaten Alabama in Nashville since 1969. ... Alabama has a 27-12-2 record in Nashville. ... Alabama has won 15 consecutive conference openers. ... Alabama has a 47-20-4 record in SEC openers. ... Vanderbilt has won its opening conference game one time in the past 16 seasons. ... Alabama's 52-6 victory over Western Carolina last week had the most points and the largest margin for the Tide in a season opener since it beat California 66-0 to start 1973. ... Alabama RB Terry Grant is the SEC freshman of the week. ... Grant's 134 rushing yards in his first start are the fourth-most in a season-opening game in Alabama history. ... Alabama WR DJ Hall needs 101 receiving yards to supplant Ozzie Newsome as the Tide's career leader. ...

Gamecocks LB ready to 'whip some Georgia butt'

Published on: 09/07/07

Columbia, S.C. ? The frustration of two near-misses against Georgia and being suspended for last year's game has South Carolina linebacker Dustin Lindsey more than a little fired up.

The Gamecocks play the No. 11 Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon in Athens. Lindsey, for one, likes the Gamecocks' chances. He wasn't shy about it.

"I think it's our year," Lindsey said. "I think we've got a better team than them. ... I feel great, ready to get back out there and whip some Georgia butt."

One of the strongest plays on here to me is the Tenn Vols game.

There is only one thing to be said about this game on Saturday.....

Wish that I was on ole Rocky Top,
down in the Tennessee hills;
Ain't no smoggy smoke on Rocky Top;
Ain't no telephone bills;
Once I had a girl on Rocky Top;
Half bear the other half cat;
Wild as a mink, but sweet as soda pop,
I still dream about that.

Rocky Top, you'll always be
Home sweet home to me;
Good ole Rocky Top;
Rocky Top, Tennessee,
Rocky Top, Tennessee.

Once two strangers climbed ole Rocky Top,
lookin' for a moonshine still;
Strangers ain't come down from Rocky Top;
Reckon they never will;
Corn won't grow at all on Rocky Top;
Dirt's too rocky by far;
That's why all the folks on Rocky Top
get their corn from a jar.

Rocky Top, you'll always be
home sweet home to me;
Good ole Rocky Top;
Rocky Top Tennessee,
Rocky Top Tennessee.
