have to take a shot with these 2.

brewers+210 dbacks have to get perfect games to win they have no bp and look at this infield no power at all. grace, womack, spivey and counsell. hell add up 2nd,3rd and ss and the weigh in at 480 if the are lucky, more power from the lady bruins softball team. and prince has the worms running for cover when he comes in,and kim still looks like he is pinching off a turttle head when he is on the mound.

cinn+108 its still the expos:shrug: fav on road and going for sweep:eek:

In regard to the the D-backs....

Those are the same players that now have world series rings on their fingers, and with Schilling on the mound.

i know they are,but it was a team that clicked at the right times and got big hits, now a year older and missing all of their big boppers, all on dl . the guys that won last year willnot have seasons like that again maybe gonzo but i doubt it maybe 30-35 hr's and lost power getting rid of sanders, bautista is not close to the threat of sanders and there best hitter who will be or should be starting at first over grace is always hurt durazo. they need to get dellucci and durazo in line up for power. trust me they willnot repete i hope they do i love them but are in trouble, anderson was a 1 hit wonder stottlemyre hasnot throwen for almost a year and a half in the bigs sept 2000. its not easy to just come back from that type of injury and long lay off.,coulbrunn bone chips ,that takes almost a year to get back right after surgery he will play but won't be healed. they have no money to get guys in the bp so they are stuck with that, its the same team on paper but almost 1/3 of it is on the dl and the power is 60-65% on the dl you have gonzo and alittle from finley and when finley swings for fence he bats below 250. would love to see them do great but will be over priced for a below avg slugging team. will have to pick and choose spots to play them and yesterday with the big number on the road was enough for me.

if johnson and schilling doesnot win 20 each they will end up in a tight race for 3rd with dodgers.

Good points Eric, I agree the loss of sanders was big and durazzo needs to get and stay healthy!

I absolutely agree that won't repeat, thats too hard.

Right now, none of them is hitting well, .139, .176, etc...

Until the bats come around the only pitchers that have a chance are Johnson and Schilling. Schilling had a great game today beating his single game Strike out record. The D-backs needed everyone of them too.

I'm a huge HOMER when it comes to the D-backs :) and had the privlege to be at games 6 and 7 of the world series!!! (really) :D

My two cents on the DBacks:

I'm a homer as well and certainly biased. . . but I think its a little early to determine if the DBacks are capable of repeating especially with all of the injuries. Fletch does bring up some great points that the power isn't there for the DBacks, but Williams and Durazo could certainly aid in that area once they find their way back.

I always thought the best betting strategy (both last year and so far this year) is to bet on the DBacks when Schilling and Johnson are pitching and against them when neither are pitching but they are still the favorite for the game. Thoughts on this?

Of course its probably never a good idea to simply bet games blind and the game today was damn close with the Brewers making a mistake by pitching to Spivey instead of facing the pitcher, but it seems to me that one would make money in the long run using this system.

I agree, in theory, with your betting strategy. When Anderson or Helling is favored over someone else, there is definatley value going against them. Especially right now with the bats pretty quiet. But your right its probably best to look at the opposing pitcher instead of going blind.

I can't believe the Brewers pitched to Spivey

What were they thinking?

Oh well, another winning series! :)
