I hope everyone concerned continues to speak out against this infestation called, the Bush administration. It is a serious and deadly disease; not the least of which is the mongoloid, head pimple-popper, Chimpy.

for every paul easton, wesley clark or ramsey clark you can gin up there are 10 that actually want to win in iraq and see the importance of success there to our foreign policy and our security.....

there are actually people that think that o.j was innocent......

the fact that you guys actually get orgasmic at every cut and runner from the military indicates how precious these guys are to you.....and relatively rare in comparison to those that want to finish the mission...

now,go back to reading your vonnegut books...or gazing at your ""bush is hitler" posters....

Once again, in true neocon style, Weasel doesn't discuss the points in the article that that he disagrees with. He just reverts to name calling and slogans.

another nice "out of context" quote........he said that military security "was" necessary to allow an environment in which political concilliation between the sunnis and shi`ites can be given a chance to work.....

he never said that the military aspect wasn`t necessary....he was saying that a political solution is needed for an extended peace...

it actually could be won militarily if we were wlling to use "saddam-style" tactics..he held the majority sunnis and the kurds in check for decades......of course, we aren`t barbarians....even though i`d like to see our r.o.e. relaxed a bit....

c`mon.......the guy just asked for another 2200 troops above and beyond the 21,000 surge....

that sound like a guy that thinks theres no military aspect to solving the dispute?.....

further my friend garden, the generals name is Eaton, not Easton. And frankly what gives you the right to call him "a cut and runner"? What service have you given? How many days in Iraq have you served?

Its funny, a distinguished General like this gentleman is given the responsibility of training, planning, and executing battle plans in Iraq. Following nearly 3 years of this, I would say he has a very unique opinion and observation of what is going on in Iraq, and probably exactly what will & won't work. Evidently you at your computer, are smarter and more experienced to judge his observations than he.

Coincidentally I suppose weeks after he called for Rumsfeld resignation, Bush washed his hands of the embarrassment.

Somehow Sham and Think Progress -Maher ect leave out several points--who'd a thought

If you want to know his entire view on war--

In the generals Senate Democratic Policy Committee Hearings ( 9-06)
--he had 4 basic suggestions on what to do in Iraq

1 Replace Rummy with proven military leader

2--get more and better advisers--triple the 4,000 there--work all operational lines to achieve success.

3. Have bipartisan commission with recommendations to pres--

4-- In its entirety"The war on terror demands we mobilize the country and significantly increase the size of our ground forces. We can not allow Iran to become the hegemon of the gulf, fearless in the face of a United states that has culminated at the ground force combat level.

---So appears to me his entire context is quite diff than the chop-chop bits and pieces AGAIN

Maybe I misinterpret him but appears to me his view is for boths sides to quit the bickering--for entire country to mobilize behind efforts -whether they/he agrees with premise orv not--and that it is paramont we use whatever sources/troops necessary to get the job done--and not leave without accomplishing what we set out--

Hmm reminds me of anothers view on Viet Nam ;)

Dogs, I don't tell the general what to say, or asked him the questions. Obviously he has his own opinions, and isn't shy about stating them. He was just on 60 minutes. I certainly don't pick and choose what to say about him.

1) obviously he didn't like Rumsfeld, he openly said he should resign.

2 better and more leaders, he obviously doesn't think Cheney Bush Wolf etc. are good leaders.

3) obviously he was looking for bipartisan to limit Bush s power. He already stated the seats won in Congress by Democrats was a blessing.
