Tampa + 3.5 get it now. Raiders defense Is not that good. Ours is.
Tampa will not be denied. If it is the Titans, it won't be close.
All the talk about philly's defense kind of pissed off the leagues best defense. Don't you think?

Right yyz. How many did philly score today. You gave tampa know shot today. The Bucs give up less than 12 points a game. And guess what it has held true in the playoffs too.
The Raiders will not score more than 17. Take it to the bank.

I dont care what wins championships right now, I am just happy as a Raider fan since 1981 to see them back. Congrats to all Raider fans and all Tampa fans.

It will be bitter sweet seeing Jon Gruden on the other sideline next week. He is the best coach in the NFL. I hope the Raiders get ready for him. They should.

Early prediction

Oakland 24
Tampa 20

We are in for a good one in my opinion.

Once again congrats to all Tampa fans, and Raider fans

I agree. It is going to be great. My cousin and I will be in vegas for Jacks party. He is a Raider fan and you know what I am. I'm taking him there for his last shindig before he gets married. Normally we both pull for the others team, now the glovea are off.
Congrats and good luck Raider backers.

Smashmouth,

You're fighting a losing battle. Until the end of time, most bettors will be starstruck by efficient offenses and bored/nonplussed by dominating defenses. Although the college championship game this year was a classic example, it certainly wasn't unique. It happens every time that there is an offensive/defensive matchup.

Look to last years super bowl, the NC game with FSU and Oklahoma 3 yrs ago..etc etc...in regards to the banter about the SB this year, just know that these yahoos will be dazzled by Gannon/Rice/Brown/Porter without ever giving an ounce of credit to one of the best defenses in NFL history. It just doesn't matter to them, because they love offenses. And overs. And favorites. That's why some of them have thrown up their hands and given up betting altogether, while pronouncing that nobody in the whole wide world could possibly win. And of course it has nothing to do with their personal short-sighted 'strategies'.

The similarities are many between TB and OSU. All you hear is how horrible the offenses are (even though Johnson was the top rated QB in the NFC and Krenzel had the 8th highest rating in all of the NCAA). 2 qb's that don't hurt their teams. Great defenses. Top special teams. Yet throughout the year, they don't get any respect. Still don't. History has dictated that the dominate defense gets the last laugh.

The fact is that you'll be taking all sorts of shots from these people, just as us OSU fans did for the last 10 weeks of the college season. At least you'll only be dealing with it for one week. And then you'll be able to come back here after TB wins and address the myopic detractors.

I have to agree with the Tampa Bay pick I think, if not the overall statement that defence wins championships. Because certainly teams that could just score score score have also won championships (Rams of a couple years ago come to mind). Anyways, it's not worth splitting hairs over because in general I DO agree that defence is underrated and the team with the potent offence is the one that everyone drools over.

Anyways, I have to say I was very impressed with Tampa Bay's performance. Not taking anything away from the Bucs, but what the hell was up with Philly's passing game today? It seemed either McNabb was 5 yards off on his passes, or when he did nail someone in the numbers the receiver would drop the ball. Was Philly just intimidated by Tampa Bay? They sure made a hell of a lot of unforced errors. Tampa on the other hand did not make mistakes (outside of the first minute of the game), and were fully deserving of the victory.

I tell you what really catches my eye with the Bucs though...I don't think their OFFENCE has been in this good of a groove all year. For about 2/3 of the game they moved the ball fairly easily against a very tough D. Nobody likes Brad Johnson...but then again I remember a Ravens team that had "no shot of winning it all" with Trent Dilfer leading them. ;) All Trent did is keep mistakes to a minimum and allow the rest of his team to win the games. Johnson's doing more than that right now I think.

Final thought...I was hoping for a lower O/U number on this game. I don't think the Raiders are going to be able to keep TB below 23 pts the way they are playing now. Oakland WILL score their points too. Should be a great game. I'm 90% sure I'll be taking TB + the pts.

Congrats Bucs and Raiders fans on your teams' wins today.

Raiders win by 7 or more, better players, more experienced, to much for the Bucs to cover, they wear the Bucs down in the 2nd half... To much heart going to be on the Bucs, Gannon proves why is the MVP, Gruden wishes he would have stayed in Oakland!!!!

Raiders 27
Bucs 20

Good luck SMASH, you are an excellent capper! But I have to disagree for this one!
