Here we go with the SEC East in conference schedule.
Georgia at Tennessee (-6')
First, do not let the victory over #3 Georgia Tech fool you from this past weekend. I really thought we would get more line value here than Tennessee -6' after that game. It shows that Vegas knows more about these two teams than their results.
Georgia has ZERO bench. Buss Wiehunt and Steve Newman are about as close to intramural basketball as it comes in the SEC. And the worst part is that they are heads above the rest of the bench. Georgia's first five can honestly keep pace with any starting five in the country (as long as there is not a dominant big man). All five are athletic, can pass, defend, and RUN! There are three guys from the five that could play 4 of the 5 positions very well. Levi Stukes is limited to point guard and Damien Wilkins is limited to either guard position due to height.
BUT they are not marathon runners and this isn't the Boston!
Tennessee with Scooter McFadgon and Brandon Crump possess an off the ball inside-outside threat that is really fun to watch. Add CJ Watson into the mix and you have a good offensive team.
Tennesse has 8 guys who average 14 minutes or more per game and have played in every game to date. Georgia has 5 guys averaging more than 27 minutes a game. After watching three of their 11 games now, the starting five only come out when a. they can't breathe, or b. they're winning by more than 14 points.
I think the first half of this game will be a dandy, but in the end Tennessee is going to outrun the tired Dawgs. After the double overtime win against in-state rivalry #3 Yellow Jackets, I believe we could see a serious letdown in Georgia's conference opener.
Play:
Tennessee -6' 1 unit
Good luck to all!
