Dammit I love college Futball!
After a 4-2 showing last weekend I'm holding my own on MJ! But enough of that past business, let's get to it my pigskin prognoticating amigos!
Kansas St - 2.5
At first glance I thought KU would be the pick with an assumption of a let down for the Wildcats. BUT, KSU still has some revenge on their minds after last year and I just don't see a let down returning home after the "short"horn smashing. The favorite in this match up is 11-1 last 12, KSU has covered 7 straight at home and the Jayhawks are 2-10 last 12 when facing this rival. Cats get the birds!! :box2:
Georgia -1
Ahh...revenge is sweet! Great matchup here...but siding with Bulldogs playing rock solid on both sides of the ball, D allowing 303 yds/gm. Tenn D giving up 439 yds/gm and 5.2 yds/rush. UGA RB Brown had 180 yds vs Ole Miss last week. Think Vol QB Ainge will be under pressure throughout. And I know the line moved (don't like siding with public normally), but still looking at this angle knowing the Vols opened favored - they are 0-10 as chalk at home facing SEC rivals. (Also add Vol record of 10-28 ATS at home last 38) Go get 'em Dawgs!!!
Colorado St - 13
I already feel like I'll regret this - laying this many points on a team riding an 11 game losing streak and are 1-9 ATS last 10. But here's the dealio... SDSU sucks. They have their own poor trend of being 2-7 ATS on the road last 9. They gave up 400 yards in the first half last week at home to Cincy. (A very good Bearcat team but wow!) And when you look at the Rams losses this year it's not like they show up without an effort. On road at TCU lost by 12 (spread 10), at home to Cal lost by 6 (covered and gained more yards than Cal), at Colorado lost by 3 (spread -3 and they could easily have won this game). Hence my support for this 0 win Ram (not in St Louis) team to break their trend at home! :grins:
Ohio St -7
Could be a great game of the unbeatens, but OSU is just a better team aren't they?!?! They don't piss off supporters of their spread very often, 19-7 last 26 overall. Favorite in this series is 6-2 ATS last 8. Offensively these teams actually match up fairly evenly with the slight edge to Purdue, but defensively it's a clear advantage for the Buckeyes... only 203 yds/game vs 384 yds/game for the Boilers... Siding with the squad that plays strong on the road and is holding opponents to less than 10 pts/game! Gooooo Buckeyes!!!!!!
Tulsa -3
Lots of scoring on the horizon in this game! Have to side with Tulsa air attack & 552 yds/gm overall offense. Tulsa are 12-3 ATS last 15 on the road and 8-3 ATS last 11 facing the Miners. I don't know what the hell a Golden Hurricane is, but I'm hoping one comes a rollin' in on UTEP Saturday!
Arizona St -9.5
Sun Devils are 7-3 ATS last 10 in this meeting. Favorite is 9-1 ATS last 10 in this meeting. QB Carpenter looking sharp to date and should have no problem slicing through Wazzou D giving up almost 300 yds/game through the air and 457 yds/ per game overall. AZ St holding opponents to less than 200 yds passing and only 82 rushing. This Pac 10 match up scares me a "bit" but still taking it...just wish it was a night game to help get back some money if need be!!
Happy Capping and good luck ya'll!!!
