Fletcher,
I heard the same thing on ESPN News this morning. They said the NY Times is reporting he will be fired, as early as today. That's the reason he hasn't been named as a coach to the NL All-Star team because he will be canned soon. That's how Montreal repays his loyalty for 28 years with the team and for turning down a chance to manage the Dodgers to stay with the Spos. I guess it's his fault that Pedro, Randy Johnson, Larry Walker and everybody else got traded.

PS. I just wish this had happened prior to yesterday and maybe Vlad might've not gone all out to rob Javy Lopez and rob me of my dime and 2 100-reverses. But oh well.

Press conference coming up, at noon I think they said.
Looks like Alou is gone, at least that's what the T.O. radio guys are assuming.

If anything, this makes Philly a stronger play tonight, if anything.

Also, pipeville, I hope you're joking about Alou having something to do with the garage sales that the Expos have, pretty much annually. The various G.M.'s have had guns held to their heads by the owner, and he has responded in kind.
Think of the all-star team you could field with ex-Expos...amazing!

Extrapolater,
I am kidding about Alou. I feel bad for him because I think he is a great in-game manager and cultivater of talent. With the limited budget the team works with, I don?t think it matters who they bring in next as manager. It?s just change to make change and will have no impact on the improvement of the team. Alou should've taken the LA job when he had the chance but his roots have been in Montreal for a long time and he didn't want to leave. I wonder if ? or when ? Alou will resurface as a candidate for another job given the fact he doesn't really want to manage anywhere else and is getting up there in age.

He is a great manager and should latch on anywhere and fit in. Florida would be nice for him. Montreal should pack their bags now and get out of dodge.

Florida I could see. NY and Texas being remote but possible. I don't know if he is THE BEST but he is in the top 5 for sure. Most underrated manager is Bruce Bochy in my mind. Alou has the reputation.

If Alou does come open, Williams will be gone immediately to make room. Williams has expressed this is his final year. Does not want to be here anymore. GREAT!!!!!! Bring on Alou!!!!!!
