this weekend`s ppv was laughable to begin with.....and even more so with the pullouts of barao and hot prospect cejudo....I`m not all that interested gambling-wise(with some nice future opportunities down the road)
I had heard that ronda rousey`s acting in expendables 3 was beyond atrocious...so,the other night there was a gina carano movie on(haywire?)...everybody was asleep so I figured wth and i turned it on.....
also in the movie:michael douglas,Antonio banderas, ewan McGregor and bill paxton....no shit.....I was shocked....
not as shocked as I was to see that carano wasn`t really a half bad action star....she`s not a horrible actress and the fight scenes were fairly well done.....it wasn`t really schlocky...carano under-played the role and I honestly think she did a good job......I would put her up against Arnold,stallone and a bunch of other horrible acting,hammy action stars and I think she would come out fairly well.....
so after seeing this on spike or fx or something another carano movie was showing on one of the premium cable networks....."in the blood" I think it was called.....it was also fairly o.k. and carano(even though she picked up around 20 pounds since the first movie) was pretty good again.....lot of us wouldn`t buy the woman whipping a young,strong athletic man`s ass schtick,but particularly in the second movie,they didn`t put her in situations in which she whacked multiple dudes all at one time....and it`s not the action stuff that impressed me(it wasn`t bad,though)
don`t get me wrong...she`s not cate blanchett or judi dench.....the fight scenes aside,she holds up pretty well when compared to the stallones and achwarzeneggers ...
I was never much of a fan....but I was surprised to see that she could pull it off....she seemed almost shy in post-fight interviews.....
