Gingrich: Americans ?surrounded by paganism.?
On Friday, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee, and Oliver North visited Rock Church in Hampton Roads, Virginia to give a three-hour long lecture on ?Rediscovering God in America.? The speakers warned the audience about the ?continuing availability of abortion, the spread of gay rights, and attempts to remove religion from American public life and school history books.? The Virginia-Pilot reported that Gingrich argued that, while Christianity is the foundation of American citizenship, Americans are experiencing a period where they are being ?surrounded by paganism?:

GINGRICH: I am not a citizen of the world. I am a citizen of the United States because only in the United States does citizenship start with our creator. [...] I think this is one of the most critical moments in American history. We are living in a period where we are surrounded by paganism.

Huckabee also equated America?s victory against the British in the Revolutionary War with the right-wing?s success in the Proposition 8 fight in California as being miracles ?from God?s hand.?

----------------------------------

I'm guessing that since Gingrich seems to remove himself from the Paganistic discussion, that he only considers the women he committed adultery with to be Pagans?

A serial adulterer, who proceded with divorce procedings while his first wife lay in bed recovering from cancer surgery, is lecturing people on the right way to live life?

A hypocrite of the first order who led the charge against Clinton and democrats for immorality, while committing the same transgressions?

Nice spokesman you guys have there. What, Larry Craig was unavailable?

And, citizenship starts with our creator? Really? So, wouldn't that mean babies born in this country - a country of Christianity under God, should have citizenship, according to Gingrich?

Unreal.

I totally agree?

I?m the type of conservative who wants to be left alone. I don?t think the government does too many things well, so the smaller the government the better I like it.

I don?t want any moralist telling me what to do. Not the moralist on the Left who want to let all the ?undocumented workers? stay without immigrating properly (just an example), and not the moralist on the Right who want to impose their religious beliefs while not living up to the shining star on the hill.

Which is why I?m a small government let me live my own life conservative. Too bad I don?t have anybody I can vote for.

You're right. It's tough being a 'conservative' these days because there are NO conservatives left in Washington.

because they all got busted sucking tools for pocket change.

Glad the ban was lifted, these types of contributions were badly missed:rolleyes:

As to Gingrich of course he need to shut his mouth. The right has real leadership issues and rush/newt do more harm than good. I also agree that a conservative has no where to turn at this point.
