Wow....thank you very much! I saw this note and thought.... "Good luck with what? I don't bet on anything til football starts". Doh!! Oh ya...not smoking. I'm impressed you remembered! And I guess it's a good sign that I ~didn't~ instantly think of smoking when I read this....

Well, so far it's only been 14 hours...but I am holding up alright. I read Alan Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking at the request of my doctor, and while I am usually pretty sensitive to being "fed a line", I really think this book has put me in a good head-space. It works on making you think about how good it will be to quit, not how awful it will be to not have cigarettes. In other words, don't go into this with the attitude that you are depriving yourself of something special / precious / important / needed etc. It may actually work. I'll keep you up to date on my progress.

Thanks again!

So Cal
I have never smoked so I am one of the lucky ones. But I know two people who were chronic smokers and went to a hypnotist and neither have smoked for more than two years.

Hey GM.........didn't realize you were trying to quit. Personally, my opinion is this. One can read, hear or listen to many different plans or "systems". The only system that truly works is your inner self system. You really have to want to do something. If you really want to, you can/will. If you haven't made up your mind to totally WANT to do/not do something, most likely you won't succeed.
I have many friends who smoke(d). So, of course, I have seen many of them try to quit. Some have won, some have lost. I wish I could have laid odds on most of the endeavors as it is sort of predictable. The ones who TRULY want to quit and are not just smokescreening themselves usually win. I know others that just "talk the talk". I know that deep deep down inside they really don't want to. They don't give themselves enough honor.
You are a great foots talent here at MJ's.
Be proud, and I sincerely hope that you really do want to quit the habit. If so, you will, I am sure.
Best of luck............THE HITMAN
