in the last 10 years, do you know how many of the national champions won their conference tournaments? I'm just trying to get a feel for this tournament and exactly how much stock to put in these conference tournys, I feel it's as wide open as ever this year.

Also, do you know what seed the national champions were the last 10 years. I think being a #1 seed just adds pressure to these kids.

likewise. wth the first question, i dont know. i wish i could help, im just not much of a past history kind of capper.

just off the top of my head, the seeding of the champions

2003: syracuse (not sure exactly, 6 i think)
2002: maryland #1 seed
2001: duke #1 seed
2000: michigan state #1 seed
1999: uconn #1 seed
1998: kentucky (almost positive a #2 seed)
1997: arizona #4 seed (beat a lot of top seeds)
1996: kentucky #1 seed

thats as far back as my memory goes
