player info
Gary Roberts, Toronto Maple Leafs - Roberts left Monday's game against the Oilers in the second period with what the Leafs are calling a "lower body muscle pull". Though they refused to get any more specific than that, it is believed Roberts has injured his back. He will be re-evaluated either Tuesday or Wednesday and at that time, it will be determined how much action (if any) he will miss.
Jaromir Jagr, Washington Capitals - As reported yesterday, Jagr missed Monday's game against the Flyers with a minor wrist injury. Again, it is not serious and Jagr could return as early as Friday's game against Kings.
Alexei Zhamnov, Chicago Blackhawks - Zhamnov was arrested on Monday on DUI charges after his blood-alcohol level was measured at two times the legal limit. Just thought some of you may have wanted to know.
Pierre Turgeon, Dallas Stars - Turgeon is expected to miss at least the next two games with a deep bone bruise on his leg. Tests revealed no fracture, but he will not accompany the Stars on their upcoming two-game road trip.
Niko Dimitrakos, San Jose Sharks - Dimitrakos, who missed Sunday's game with sore leg, returned to practice on Monday and is probable for Tuesday's game against the Blues.
Kip Miller, Washington Capitals - Miller miss his fourth straight game with a hand injury, but hopes to participate in some non-contact drills within the next day or two. He is listed as questionable for the game on Friday against the Kings.
Chris Gratton, Phoenix Coyotes - Gratton was traded to the Coyotes on Monday along with a fourth round pick in exchange for Daniel Briere and a third round pick. The trade doesn't especially help or hurt Gratton, but if we had to guess, we think his production may actually fall a bit.
Daniel Briere, Buffalo Sabres - Briere was traded to the Sabres on Monday along with a third round draft pick in exchange for Chris Gratton and a fourth round pick. If Briere gets to play on a line with Miroslav Satan (provided Satan isn't traded), he could experience a modest increase in his fantasy value.
Tony Amonte, Philadelphia Flyers - The Flyers acquired Amonte from the Coyotes on Monday in exchange for a minor leaguer and a couple draft picks. Amonte will likely play on a line with fellow Americans Jeremy Roenick and John LeClair and could be in line for an awesome final 10 games of the regular season.
