Roman Cechmanek, Philadelphia Flyers - According to NHL.com, it appears as if Cechmanek is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Wild. We figured that coach Ken Hitchcock would start Robert Esche tonight and then come back with Cechmanek tomorrow, but apart from the NHL.com article, we have been unable to find any other sources. Keep checking back in case there is a change.

Byron Dafoe, Atlanta Thrashers - Dafoe will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Capitals, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Dwayne Roloson, Minnesota Wild - Roloson will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Flyers, reports the Minnesota Star-Tribune. FYI, coach Jacques Lemaire also stated that he plans on going back to rotating Roloson and Manny Fernandez for the remainder of the season.

Dan Blackburn, New York Rangers - Blackburn will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Panthers, reports the New York Post. Mike Dunham, recovered from a groin strain, will back him up.

Patrick Lalime, Ottawa Senators - Lalime will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Penguins, reports the Ottawa Sun. He has gotten over his bout with the flu that caused him to miss games last week.

Brian Boucher, Phoenix Coyotes - Boucher will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Devils, reports the Arizona Republic.

Johan Hedberg, Pittsburgh Penguins - Hedberg will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Senators, reports the Ottawa Sun. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette lists Hedberg as a probable starter but count on him being between the pipes.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Anaheim Mighty Ducks - Giguere is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Flames.

Roman Turek, Calgary Flames - Turek is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Mighty Ducks.

Jocelyn Thibault, Chicago Blackhawks - Thibault is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Maple Leafs.

Marc Denis, Columbus Blue Jackets - Denis is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Sharks.

Roberto Luongo, Florida Panthers - Luongo is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Devils - Brodeur is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Coyotes.

Olaf Kolzig, Washington Capitals - Kolzig is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Thrashers.

Miika Kiprusoff, San Jose Sharks - Kiprusoff is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jackets.

Ed Belfour, Toronto Maple Leafs - Belfour is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Blackhawks. Take this one with caution as well because we were unable to find any sort of post-game notes from coach Pat Quinn. If anyone in the Toronto area can pass along information, it would be appreciated.

Marty Turco, Dallas Stars - Turco had to leave Tuesday's game against the Hurricanes after the second period with a mild ankle sprain. Because he was able to finish the period, we suspect the injury is not serious but he will be re-evaluated on Wednesday and his availability for the Stars' next game will be known at that time.

Jean-Sebastien Aubin, Pittsburgh Penguins - The Pens placed Aubin on injured reserve Tuesday due to a bruised hand. Aubin practiced fully though which seems to imply to us that the Penguins only did this so they can put off the inevitable decision of selecting between Aubin and Sebastien Caron for a few days.

Sebastien Charpentier, Washington Capitals - Just as a heads up to all of you who like to know about these things as soon as possible, Charpentier is scheduled to start on Saturday against the Panthers, according to the Washington Post.

player info

Martin Straka, Pittsburgh Penguins - Straka did not practice on Tuesday and is doubtful for the remainder of the week's games. As we said yesterday, a relatively harmless injury has the potential to sideline Straka for a long period of time due to his brittle nature.

Kevin Sawyer, Anaheim Mighty Ducks - Sawyer has recovered from his concussion and could be back in the Ducks' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Flames. He is not a useful fantasy starter, outside of leagues that heavily count penalty minutes.

Joe Sakic, Colorado Avalanche - The Avs announced after Tuesday's game that captain Sakic will resume skating either late this week or early next. He has been out for almost a month with a broken foot and the exact timetable for his return will only be determined after he gets on the ice and is able to determine how it feels.

Chris Pronger, St. Louis Blues - An evaluation on Pronger's wrist revealed that the defenseman is progressing on schedule from surgery. He will release a more extensive account of his rehab later this week, but by most accounts, he will be out for the remainder of the season.

Doug Weight, St. Louis Blues - Weight left Tuesday's game against the Sabres after getting a puck in the face. He needed stitches to close a deep gash above his lip and was also a bit woozy, prompting officials to list him as doubtful for the Blues' next game.

Ryan Smyth, Edmonton Oilers - Smyth re-aggravated a shoulder injury Tuesday night after taking a hit from Robert Svehla. He is listed as day-to-day but keep in mind that this same injury caused Smyth to miss six games earlier in the year.

Martin Havlat, Ottawa Senators - Though he missed a recent practice with the flu, Havlat will play in Wednesday's game against the Penguins, reports the Ottawa Sun.

Shawn McEachern, Atlanta Thrashers - McEachern is set to undergo possible season-ending back surgery Wednesday for a herniated disc. The earliest prognosis for his return is six weeks, but since the season has only eight weeks left in it, there is a good chance he won't be back until the playoffs (if the Thrashers make it) or next season.

Pavel Bure, New York Rangers - Bure continues to show improvement in his surgically repaired knees, but won't play Wednesday against the Panthers. He has gone on record to say that he would be willing to play at less than 100% but coach and GM Glen Sather commented today that he would not "pressure" Bure into returning sooner than he is ready.

Brian Leetch, New York Rangers - Leetch practiced again on Tuesday and told the media that he can now make certain maneuvers on his tender ankle that he couldn't do before. He will not play against the Panthers as well, but could return later in the week.

Jeremy Roenick, Philadelphia Flyers - Roenick did not practice on Tuesday, staying home with a stomach virus. He is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Wild.
