David Aebischer, Colorado Avalanche - Aebischer will be the starter for Friday's game against the Islanders, reports the Denver Post.

Brian Boucher, Phoenix Coyotes - Boucher will be the starter for Friday's game against the Stars, reports the Arizona Republic.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Anaheim Mighty Ducks - Giguere will be the starter for Friday's game against the Rangers, reports the LA Times.

Jamie Storr, Los Angeles Kings - Storr will be the starter for Friday's game against the Sabres, reports the LA Times. He was pulled on Thursday but coach Andy Murray said it was not indicative of Storr's play but rather only to rest him for tonight's game.

Jeff Hackett, Boston Bruins - Hackett is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Devils.

Martin Biron, Buffalo Sabres - Biron is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Kings.

Kevin Weekes, Carolina Hurricanes - Weekes is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Lightning.

Marc Denis, Columbus Blue Jackets - Denis is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Sharks.

Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Devils - Brodeur is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Bruins.

Garth Snow, New York Islanders - Snow is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Avalanche.

Mike Dunham, New York Rangers - Dunham is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Mighty Ducks.

Evgeni Nabokov, San Jose Sharks - Nabokov is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Blue Jackets.

Nikolai Khabibulin, Tampa Bay Lightning - Khabibulin is the probable starter for Friday's game against the Hurricanes.

Sean Burke, Phoenix Coyotes - The Coyotes are planning to activate Burke off injured reserve for Friday's game against the Stars, but he will backup Brian Boucher reports the Arizona Republic. Burke is tentatively scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Flames.

Jean-Sebastien Aubin, Pittsburgh Penguins - Aubin practiced on Thursday and declared his bruised hand healthy enough to play with. As expected however, Penguins management does not agree - probably only so they can have a few more days to decide which of Aubin or rookie Sebastien Caron to send down to the minors. Even though he has performed better, Caron may be the one sent down due to a few reasons, the most important of which is that Aubin must clear waivers if he is to be demoted.

player info

Petr Sykora, Anaheim Mighty Ducks - Sykora missed Thursday's practice with the flu and is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Rangers.

Milan Hejduk, Colorado Avalanche - Hejduk left Thursday's game in the second period with what is apparently a pulled muscle in his rib cage area. The injury is not believed to be serious but his status for Friday's game against the Islanders won't be determined until the morning skate.

Richard Matvichuk, Dallas Stars - Matvichuk is probable for Friday's game against the Coyotes, reports the Dallas Morning News.

Darryl Sydor, Dallas Stars - Sydor is suffering from a sore shoulder but will probably play on Friday against the Coyotes.

Mike Modano, Dallas Stars - Modano missed Thursday's practice with a slight groin pull, but he is expected to play on Friday against the Coyotes, reports the Dallas Morning News.

Darren McCarty, Detroit Red Wings - McCarty skated on Thursday but is still hooked up to an IV device and is consequently about a week away from returning.

Steve Yzerman, Detroit Red Wings - Yzerman told CTV Sportsnet that he is about one week away from returning. He doesn't think he will play on Saturday against the Capitals, but stated that he will be back by late next week at the very latest.

Stephen Weiss, Florida Panthers - The Panthers had hoped to have Weiss back on Saturday but the rookie center's broken toe is healing slower than anticipated and he can't even put any weight on it and as such, hasn't been able to skate.

Colin White, New Jersey Devils - White's knee injury isn't as serious as first thought and the defenseman is now expected to miss only 1-2 weeks with a sprained MCL.

Oleg Tverdovsky, New Jersey Devils - Tverdovsky skated for a second straight day on Thursday and felt no ill-effects of what was possibly diagnosed as a concussion. He hopes to be cleared to resume full-contact practicing sometime next week and could return shortly thereafter.

Pavel Bure, New York Rangers - Bure worked out off-ice on Thursday but said that his left knee, the one he banged up in a goal mouth collision the day before, felt the same. Keep Bure active but always remember that he probably has the worst set of knees in the entire NHL.

Chris Therien, Philadelphia Flyers - Therien was a last minute scratch on Thursday due to a groin injury that he suffered during the morning skate.

Pavel Kubina, Tampa Bay Lightning - Kubina is still suffering from the after effects of being hit into the boards by Peter Bondra. He has complained of headaches and fatigue, two symptoms of a concussion, but the Lightning are thus far not classifying the injury as such. He will be re-evaluated on Friday but won't play against the Hurricanes.
