Sean Burke, Phoenix Coyotes - Burke will be the starter for Thursday's game against the Blues, reports the Arizona Republic., Interestingly, the Blues are the team most interested in acquiring Burke's services for the stretch drive and playoff run.

Curtis Sanford, St. Louis Blues - Sanford will be the starter for Thursday's game against the Coyotes, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Garth Snow, New York Islanders - Snow will be the starter for Thursday's game against the Bruins, reports the New York Daily News.

Sebastien Caron, Pittsburgh Penguins - Caron will bet he starter for Thursday's game against the Hurricanes, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune.

Pasi Nurminen, Atlanta Thrashers - Nurminen will be the starter for Thursday's game against the Capitals, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Jeff Hackett, Boston Bruins - Hackett is the probable starter for Thursday's game against the Islanders.

Martin Biron, Buffalo Sabres - Biron is the probable starter for Thursday's game against the Maple Leafs.

Kevin Weekes, Carolina Hurricanes - Weekes is the probable starter for Thursday's game against the Penguins. This is assuming that he has overcome the flu and a recent sore hand.

Marc Denis, Columbus Blue Jackets - Denis is the probable starter for Thursday's game against the Canucks.

Tommy Salo, Edmonton Oilers - Salo is the probable starter for Thursday's game against the Kings.

Jamie Storr, Los Angeles Kings - Storr is the probable starter for Thursday's game against the Oilers.

Dwayne Roloson, Minnesota Wild - Roloson is the probable starter for Thursday's game against the Predators.

Mathieu Garon, Montreal Canadiens - Garon is the probable starter for Thursday's game against the Sharks.

Evgeni Nabokov, San Jose Sharks - Nabokov is the probable starter for Thursday's game against the Canadiens.

Ed Belfour, Toronto Maple Leafs - Belfour is the probable starter for Thursday's game against the Sabres.

Peter Skudra, Vancouver Canucks - Skudra is the probable starter for Thursday's game against the Blue Jackets, reports the Vancouver Province.

Olaf Kolzig, Washington Capitals - Kolzig is the probable starter for Thursday's game against the Thrashers.

Tomas Vokoun, Nashville Predators - Vokoun is the probable starter for Thursday's game against the Wild.

Robert Esche, Philadelphia Flyers - Coach Ken Hitchcock is leaning towards giving Esche a start on Saturday against the Avalanche, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer. Roman Cechmanek would start the night before against the Rangers.

Byron Dafoe, Atlanta Thrashers - Dafoe is still holding hope that he may not need surgery for what is likely a sports hernia, making it possible that he could be back before the end of the year. We doubt it as he is showing all the symptoms of said injury and the Thrashers are already looking ahead to next year.

Steve Passmore, Chicago Blackhawks - Coach Brian Sutter tried to shake up his struggling team by giving Passmore a surprise start on Wednesday. It obviously did not work as Passmore was lit up for seven goals and the Hawks lost their eighth straight. Don't expect too many starts from Passmore for the remainder of the year.

Marty Turco, Dallas Stars - Turco suffered a setback in his recovery from an ankle sprain and will not be back on the ice for another few days. Turco experienced some pain in the ankle but hopes to be back skating some time next week.

Brent Johnson, St. Louis Blues - Johnson practiced for the first time yesterday since suffering a groin pull but won't return to the Blues lineup until sometime next week.

Chris Osgood, New York Islanders - Osgood will be activated in time for Thursday's game against the Bruins and will backup Garth Show for the contest. He hopes to be ready to start Saturday's game against the Devils.

player info

Peter Forsberg, Colorado Avalanche - Forsberg took a puck in the groin area in Wednesday's game against the Panthers, which directly resulted in a goal. The scoring officials did not award Forsberg an assist even though under NHL rules he should have but expect the league to rectify the situation as early as today. For the record, Forsberg is okay and won't miss any time.

Sergei Fedorov, Detroit Red Wings - Fedorov missed a second straight game due to a deeply bruised lower back. It seems to sound worse than it really is as Fedorov is hoping to return to the lineup for Friday's game against the Blues.

Kip Miller, Washington Capitals - Miller did not practice on Wednesday and will not play in Thursday's game against the Capitals, reports the Washington Post. However, he could join the team for Saturday's match against the Bruins, but only if he is able to practice on Friday.

Eric Daze, Chicago Blackhawks - Daze will not return to the Blackhawks lineup until Sunday at the very earliest and that too is doubtful according to the Chicago Sun-Times. He has been battling a foot infection.

Phil Housley, Chicago Blackhawks - Coach Brian Sutter downplayed the possibility of Housley playing again in the regular season, saying he is only half-way through his rehab from a broken foot. Housley's name has come up in trade talks, notably from playoff bound teams who would like to use him in the post-season as a powerplay specialist.

Simon Gagne, Philadelphia Flyers - Barring another last minute setback, Gagne hopes to be back in the Flyers lineup by this weekend and possibly in time for Friday's game against the Rangers. He has practiced with full-contact for three straight days and has felt no adverse effects with his groin.

John LeClair, Philadelphia Flyers - LeClair continues to practice extensively in anticipation of returning in the near future. He will under tests this weekend to determine if he can be cleared to return but coach Ken Hitchcock doesn't believe he will play this week. However, he feels as if LeClair will return "sooner rather than later".

Oleg Tverdovsky, New Jersey Devils - Tverdovsky was checked hard into the boards and missed some time during Wednesday's game against the Flames. However, he was able to return but stated aftwards that he suffered lower back spasms "right away". Tverdovsky added that he expects to be fine.

Brad Isbister, New York Islanders - Isbister, who has fallen out of favor with Islanders management and was a healthy scratch on Tuesday, will be back in the lineup on Thursday so as coach Peter Laviolette states "he has a chance to prove himself and prove me wrong".

Owen Nolan, Toronto Maple Leafs - Nolan was traded to the Maple Leafs yesterday in exchange for forward Alyn McCauley, prospect Brad Boyles and a first round pick in the 2003 entry draft. Nolan will likely end up playing on the Leafs' second line with Nikolai Antropov, but coach Pat Quinn said he might change his mind. Nolan will make his debut on Saturday against the Canucks and his fantasy value should not be changed too much, but will rise if gets on the top line with Mats Sundin and/or Alex Mogilny.
