Mathieu Garon, Montreal Canadiens - Garon will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Lightning, reports RDS.

Arturs Irbe, Carolina Hurricanes - Irbe will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Penguins, reports the Raleigh News-Observer.

Sebastien Caron, Pittsburgh Penguins - Caron will be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Hurricanes, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Martin Gerber, Anaheim Mighty Ducks - Gerber is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Stars.

Pasi Nurminen, Atlanta Thrashers - Nurminen is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Sabres.

Mika Noronen, Buffalo Sabres - Noronen is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Thrashers.

Roman Turek, Calgary Flames - Turek is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Sharks.

Patrick Roy, Colorado Avalanche - Roy is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Kings.

Marc Denis, Columbus Blue Jackets - Denis is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Wild.

Marty Turco, Dallas Stars - Turco is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Mighty Ducks.

Cristobal Huet, Los Angeles Kings - Huet is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Kings.

Dwayne Roloson, Minnesota Wild - Roloson is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jackets.

Zac Bierk, Phoenix Coyotes - Bierk is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Canucks.

Vesa Toskala, San Jose Sharks - Toskala is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Flames.

Nikolai Khabibulin, Tampa Bay Lightning - Khabibulin is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Canadiens.

Dan Cloutier, Vancouver Canucks - Cloutier is the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Coyotes.

Michael Leighton, Chicago Blackhawks - With Craig Andersson sent back down to the minors, the Blackhawks are expected to start rookie Michael Leighton in two of the team's remaining three games. Steve Passmore will probably start the other game as his injured hand doesn't seem to be serious. It is expected that next year, Leighton and Andersson will battle for the right to backup Jocelyn Thibault meaning Passmore will probably be out of a job.

Jeff Hackett, Boston Bruins - Hackett practiced again yesterday but his fractured finger is still giving him problems so he has stopped using his stick in hopes that more rest will help heal the problem. Hackett was hopeful of getting into a game or two before the season ends, but the Boston Globe reports that it's very unlikely and he probably won't play again until the playoffs begin.

Jozef Stumpel, Boston Bruins - Stumpel was scratched from Tuesday's game against the Senators due to a hip flexor injury. The Boston Herald reports that he is day-to-day.

Sergei Samsonov, Boston Bruins - Samsonov will undergo his first full-contact practice Wednesday afternoon and if he comes out of it with no setbacks or significant pain, he could be cleared to play Thursday against the Devils.

Jan Hlavac, Carolina Hurricanes - Hlavac, out with a broken finger, was hoping to return to action Wednesday against the Penguins. However, the Raleigh News-Observer reports that he may not be able to play and thus the team lists him as questionable for the game.

Andrei Markov, Montreal Canadiens - Markov will not play in Wednesday's game against the Lightning due to a sprained left knee, reports the Montreal Gazette. In fact, it is quite likely that the young defenseman's season is over as the Canadiens would be foolish to rush him back when they are already eliminated from the playoffs.

Eric Desjardins, Philadelphia Flyers - Desjardins did not play in Wednesday's game against the Blue Jackets due to a bruised tendon that he suffered Monday when a Penguins player fell on top of him. Judging by the way coach Ken Hitchcock spoke, it sounds like Desjardins will be back for the Flyers' next game on Friday.

Simon Gagne, Philadelphia Flyers - Gagne returned from his groin injury last night as previously reported but saw under 10 minutes of icetime. He did play on the #1 line with Jeremy Roenick and Tony Amonte and we expect the Flyers to gradually increase his icetime over the final two games so he can be at his usual 15-20 minutes per game by the playoffs. Oh for the record, Gagne said after the game that his groin was "a little bit sore" which I guess is good news when you consider how his season has gone so far.

Phillipe Boucher, Dallas Stars - Boucher suffered a chest contusion in Monday's win over the Sabres and probably won't play again until the playoffs. The Stars don't believe the injury is serious but they are being cautious as such injuries can sometimes take quite a while to heal. Lyle Odelein, who has recovered from an ankle injury, will be back in the lineup for the Stars when they play the Mighty Ducks on Wednesday.
