FROM THE MONTREAL GAZZETTE

Th?odore will get his third consecutive start tonight when the Canadiens entertain the Philadelphia Flyers at the Molson Centre (7:30 p.m., TQS, CJAD Radio-800).

In his last two games, Th?odore has stopped 65 of 66 shots in a 4-0 win over the New York Islanders last Thursday and a 1-1 tie against the Maple Leafs Saturday night in Toronto. In that game, Th?odore and the Leafs' Curtis Joseph took turns upstaging each other, although Th?odore faced more shots, because the Leafs outshot the Canadiens 39-29.

Has Flyers' Number

Then there's Th?odore's record against the Flyers. A 3-2 win in Philadelphia last month gave Th?odore a 5-2-0 lifetime record against Philadelphia, and he's 5-0-0 over the last three seasons.

"He's just been outstanding," teammate Brian Savage said after Saturday night's tie in Toronto. "He's our MVP up to now. And we need him to be that strong if we're going to make the playoffs."

BOSTON GLOBE

Goaltender Byron Dafoe, who left Thursday night's game against Los Angeles because of illness, was one of just a dozen players who practiced at the FleetCenter yesterday. He said he'll be fine to play tonight.

''This was my first hard practice since I caught whatever I caught,'' said Dafoe. ''I was a little winded, but that's expected. I should feel great [today].''

Ftorek said a good portion of his team is down for reasons that have nothing to do with its 5-4 loss to the Islanders Saturday.

''Everybody is a little down physically,'' said Ftorek. ''There are a bunch of tough tests coming up. A lot of guys didn't skate because they are battling [the flu]. Some of them have the symptoms, so we have to wade through it like everybody else

Tack, Rebel. Montreal looks like a solid play tonight. After Saturday's game Roenick repeatedly emphasized how draining that game was. Even aside from the situation and Thedore's hot streak, I think the line's a bit high to begin with. Philly's 13-0-1 against the Southleast (goal differential of +31), and 12-13-4 vs. the rest of the league. Beating up on weaklings inflates their power rating (+4 goal differential).

Whatch out for those "solid play", specially in this one.

Its not what i would call a solid play.
Interesting but solid..............

Dont want anyone to get exited to fast over a play i dont see has solid,
Just my personnal view.
Good luck

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
NJ Star-Ledger sez Richter tonight, Blackburn Wed at Columbus.

I'm guessing Dunham and Giguere. Dunham 4-8-1 on road. Dunham has hit the over 10-2-1 on road. He's 3-6-1 vs Ana, 2.40 gga, .916 pct.

Anaheim 6-1-0 lifetime vs Nashville at the Pond.
Giguere 1-2-0 vs Nash, 1.99 gga, .941 pct.

I expect Salo and Thibault. Thibault just had two poor outings, he will concentrate tonight.
