RECORDS: Sharks are 22-13-6-3 after Saturday's 3-2 loss to visiting Los Angeles. Avalanche is 24-16-6-0 after Saturday's 2-2 tie at Edmonton.
INJURY REPORT: Sharks -- D Marcus Ragnarsson (finger) is out. Avalanche -- D Adam Foote (foot), LW Brad Larsen (ribs), RW Shjon Podein (knee), C Stephane Yelle (wrist) are questionable.
UPDATE: Sharks -- A trip to Denver could be the cure for G Evgeni Nabokov's ills. Nabokov, who has allowed 21 goals in his past five starts and 11 in his past two, posted his 11th career shutout in beating the Avalanche 3-0 at the Pepsi Center on Dec. 14, the only prior meeting this season between the teams. Nabokov also posted a shutout in his first career start, a scoreless tie at Colorado on Jan. 19, 2000. ... The route has been set for D Gary Suter's carrying of the Olympic Torch on Friday. Suter will pick up the torch at the corner of 10th and Santa Clara streets at approximately 10:40 a.m. and will proceed to Eight and San Fernando streets in downtown San Jose. Avalanche -- Colorado rallied from a two-goal deficit to remain one point behind the Oilers in the Northwest Division. The Avalanche is 2-3-2 over its past seven games. ... RW Milan Hejduk scored the game-tying goal Saturday and has 13 goals in his past 21 games.
