Where is PJ Orourke, where is Pat Buchanan, where is George Will, where is William F. Buckley, where are the principles of Goldwater? Where is the voice of Powell? I have always been a "leftie" but I miss the integrity of the right as a balancing force. True conservatives have been alienated from the republican party by people like Rush Limbaugh. The dumbing down of the republican party is bad for us all. The republican party used to stand for a pragmatic approach, fiscal conservatism and true patriotism. The modern day republican party does not in any way reflect the original principles of the party. What was once was a libertarian foundation based on small government and freedom of the individual has been replaced with a big government, protect one "from themselves" perverted liberalism with a healthy dose of facism. The way in which Ron Paul was rejected is a case in point. It really is sickening, even to a lib like me.
