KU -2.5
This will be, to date, my largest play in college basketball this season.
Don't have a lot of time before tip-off to state my reasons, but here are a couple:
- Bill Self drilled these guys in practice the last couple of days. The young guys may not have realized the significance of playing against "major" rivals before Saturday, but after the loss to K St. at home, believe me, they now know. They will be ready.
- Mizzou hasn't had the best of home courts over the last couple of seasons, which surprises me... because Columbia has one of the loudest CBB arenas that I have ever been in (not nearly as loud as Allen, however... and yet I digress). I think the freshman will start out quickly and play off of the energy in the arena.
- Biggest reason: KU is flat out more talented of a basketball team, by far, and are far better coached.
I will not hesitate to hedge/middle this wager at halftime if KU can get out to a 4+ lead at the break... which I think they can.
Anyhow, this is definately not a "game of the year" proclamation... just my biggest play yet thus far in the early season... Try never to bet on/against the Hawks, but I couldnt help myself here... hopefully it doesnt come back to bite me.
